Both of you ignore what the other says, and it won't spread out over an entire page. If neither of you responds to the crap you say about each other, it can't go on. Alternately, I can just ban both of you and it will stop altogether. Let me know which option you guys prefer!

This is the last i will say of the subject: At what point is something done about the constant needling? I ignore most of the s*** he says, but it doesn't stop. Why do i have to put up with the constant string of harassment, especially since ignore doesn't work because of the quote function?

If you go back through the backlog of posts, you will see that i don't address him unless he addresses me multiple times first. It's infuriating.

Odd, I quoted the post too. But in case it wasn't obvious, it was directed at the only two people who manage to get into arguments without actually speaking directly to each other.

Well I was asking because the last time a debate broke out about who has mojo rights, it didn't end well.

And if I got banned from talksox well f***, it'd be all over. I'd have to go post on reddit.

I will leave you all with this nugget of wisdom:

The Sox are the only team in baseball history to have ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a series. They're also resilient enough to have beaten Scherzer during his "i can't lose" season. We can pull this off.

So many parts of the Sox game were off tonight. Never got on track against Sanchez on the offensive end and Ross and Lester kept going back to that curve. Every time he threw it was bad news. He was catching too much of the plate and hung it most of the time. He was getting away with it but guys were lining out and just hitting the ball foul until ******* Peralta. But he really never threw it good once the whole night. A great pitching effort by Jon really fouled by going back to one pitch that he just could not throw tonight.

A great game but we played much like we did against the Rays. As many of us have said, that won't get it done against the Tigers. Can't expect these games to end up monster ass whippings one way or the other. You win or you lose on a very thin margin for error....thats it.

The Tigers did play a near perfect game tonight though and I don't expect them to pull that off throughout the series. We are still a better team to be playing tight, grind it out games like this. Come back tomorrow and get it done.

Don't forget about 2007, down 3-1, which is almost as bad. The last 4 ALCS' the Sox have played in have gone 7 games.

You can at least try the ignore function to cut down on it. And as I said, if you don't respond to it at all, it shrivels and dies quicker than an erection in front of Hillary Clinton.
An erection from Hillary Clinton. That's sort of like a Unicorn and Joe West's eye.

Well, it clearly happened at least once. I'm forced to conclude she was reasonably attractive at one point, many many years ago.

In the present it is in the unicorn category.

Lester is best when he throws his change off the plate ... I do not remember seeing that pitch at all tonight. Other than that he only allowed 1 run so he has my respect.

Hate to have to think about it really!

Good news ... West will not have the plate tomorrow night.

Joe West was just 2% of the problem of this game. They were just putrid. Hopefully Farrell mix s*** up for game 2. Bogaerts could use a start.

The low strike 2 that he called on Ellsbury in the 8th was a terrible call at a key point in the game.

I would hit her over Janet Reno.

Just saying

OK, a thread on a demoralizing loss devolves into a debate on the f***worthiness of Hilary Clinton.

Another reminder of why I like this place so much.

"key point" were in the first few innings when Sanchez put on a lot of base runners. They ran out of chances after that. It was just a terrible game.

The one-pitch AB from Middlebrooks in the 5th was back-breaking. Bogaertz has really showed his plate discipline over the last few games, and I think he may be a better fit for atleast a game or two.

On another note.... It took a one-hit bid to beat the Red Sox. Think about that. Sanchez and that bullpen had to be practically perfect in order to beat the Red Sox. Ain't going to happen again this series.

Sanchez dominated us, because when our batters tried to exercise some patience at the plate he threw quality strikes on the corners with his fastball. It seemed like he didn't throw a single pitch over the middle of the plate. That was just amazing big game pitching. He did walk a bunch of guys and throw a lot of pitches, but he never gave in and never made a mistake. We just needed one lucky break-- a blooper, a seeing eye grounder and we would have pushed across a handful of runs and won. Curt Schilling always says that the difference between winning and losing is executing 5 or 6 pitches. Sanchez executed everyone of the pitches that he needed to execute.

Except for the sad fact that had he gotten the call right, the RS would have only had 16 Ks--well over half their outs. They couldn't hit anything thrown for a strike; they waved at pitches way out of the zone (i.e., Ortiz), and generally had pathetic swings. It was like local Little League--all walks and strikeouts. No solid contact all night (well, Ross had a nice foul ball--wasn't that the only decent swing of the evening?) They did nothing to deserve a call.

6 walks wasn't exactly perfect...

Looks to me like they just lost a little edge after 3 days off. West is a bad umpire, but calls usually balance out. Drew should not have been hitting away in the 9th with the rabbit on 1B. Somebody screwed up there.

You don't want to get beat opening game at home against a #3 or 4 starter. The advantage now shifts to the Tigers.

How about 0 runs ?
He refused to let anyone hurt him. That's why he walked so many. He bent with the walks, but didn't break when he had to get out of those jams.

That's not good pitching, though. He was insanely fortunate that nobody even blooped one in like Peralta did against Lester
