A win tonight, or a loss by Oakland clinches homefield advantage. Lets get it done.

Ha ha ha...the Rays are losing 7-1 in the 5th. They are on their 4th pitcher already and every one of them has stunk. Maddon must be s***ing himself.

Rays lost, Rangers won. Rays and Ranger Now tied.

Let's go Tribe! It will be fun to see a playoff game there. Everyone clapping along to the drum. I have family out there. They are ecstatic.

Seattle is leading the season series 10-8? against Oakland. They play the As tough, and have the advantage of playing at home. Though their manager taking a powder doesn't help.

Ellsbury gets a planned day off

Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff September 28, 2013 05:43 PM

BALTIMORE — Manager John Farrell said Jacoby Ellsbury being out of the lineup was planned and that the Red Sox intended from the start to play him every other day.

Ellsbury is scheduled to play all nine innings on Sunday.

Also:

• Just a day off for David Ortiz. Wonder if that would be the case if he still had 29 home runs?

• The Red Sox want to see Junichi Tazawa, Matt Thornton, Ryan Dempster and Felix Doubront out of the bullpen over the next two days.

• How long Jon Lester pitches tonight and John Lackey tomorrow will hinge on the significance of the games.

• The Red Sox have a variety of lefty relievers to pick from for their postseason roster. Craig Breslow is obviously on the team. But Doubront, Thornton and Franklin Morales are under varying degrees of consideration. The opponent in the Division Series will help determine that, Farrell said.
