That's the guy I was talkin' about Native. I never found out for sure but I assumed at the time that the test handler really took it on the chin, like lost the job etc...maybe not.

If he lost his job, Braun should lose his too.

Hey lester, that's work you work, f*** the endless nibbling.

.

Let's see if Lester come up better tomorrow. I'm really tired of him giving the catchers a workout behind the plate.

Moore looks better tonight than when I saw him earlier this year.

f***ing Rays always seem to build momentum the second half. What I most hate is that all four of these games will likely be like tonight's game...not to say we will be behind all game long or lose them all but I would bet that even in this ballpark they will all be like this...tight, close, tense ballgames where an error here or there really hurts you. Maybe Salty can get a convenient flu for the next four days.

Interesting...Naps is carrying his hands low on the handle of the bat again tonight. Last night he was farther up the bat handle even with less than 2 strikes than I have seen him and I liked that from him last night. No idea why he has gone back to this grip tonight.

I'm pretty sure this is another one of your dead pull hitter observations.

Tonight he looks like he is choking up a bit with two strikes but right down on the butt end with less than two. Hard to tell with the black gloves on the black handle. Edited by jung

As for WMB, he is in more trouble now than when he left. Now he is totally in limbo.....he either has to change a lot or adapt to the swing he is using now, one or the other. Instead he is stuck right in the middle and not making much progress last I actually saw him swinging.

I guess it's that much more important that we won last night. And Lester gets to go against Fausto Carmona tomorrow so if he can't win that he probably can't win at all. And I think we're close to already winning the season series vs. the Rays anyway so some of those games were bound to average out. Don't the Rays have a much tougher 2nd half schedule than us anyway?

The Rays have a tough second-half schedule but if they keep getting the pitching they've been getting, they're a handful.

This is not a very scientific cut but we have 28 games remaining against teams that are either in 1st or 2nd in their respective divisions. The Rays have 27 left. These numbers include tonight's game.

We have 31 home and 31 away games left. The Rays have 28 home and 35 away games left. I think the Rays got rained out in Cleveland twice in a row. Those might be two extra games in hand but they would also be in Cleveland. Not really sure about the rain outs.

Welcome to playing the f***ing Rays late in the season. Frankly it is getting easier and easier to hate the f***ing Rays.

Well we have to give credit where credit it due Jung. Matt Moore was lights out tonight and when you can't break through with a couple of runs against him you have to tip your cap to him and move on. We once had a lefty who could pitch like that at times but the guy disappeared the past two seasons. We'll see if he reappears tomorrow. We also lost out on Matt Garza. I know that doesn't faze too many of our colleagues here but I really thought he might be just the guy we needed for the late summer push. Next possibility? Maybe Jake Peavy perhaps?

How about Workman? Maybe he's the starter we need? He pitched very well against one of the best offenses in the league.
Of all the minor league pitchers, he was the most unheralded of the bunch, but he has given us much more than Webster, Rubby or Wright.
