Nick Cafardo is reporting that the Red Sox are interested in Steve Cishek and referred to a National League scout who thought there would be a lot of interest in Bard if the Red Sox made him available. I don't think Cishek should close for us instead of someone like Tazawa, and who knows how he'd handle Boston. But we're going to have to release Bard eventually anyways, I wonder if we could center a trade around him.

Papelbon: 3 Blown Saves this month.

Bailey: 3 Blown Saves this month.

Just sayin....

Then they're both on the Mo Rivera Hwy?

Clearly this proves that Bailey = Papelbon

When a guy blows a save, you should sit him down and give him a day or two off away from closing. Then bring him back. Don't throw him back in the fire the next night. Sometimes it makes it worse. The Pirates sat Grilli when he finally blew a save after 26 chances.

They should actually name a highway (at least) after Mariano Rivera. If not in NY then definitely in Panama.

One side of Yankee Stadium is on River Ave. It surprises me quite a bit they haven't added an "a" yet.

That be a pretty sweet retirement gift

We should trade Nava before he turns back in to Nava. That would free up a roster spot for Bradley, who also gets on base but plays better defense.

Can't tell if serious.

I'm serious. He's a career .750 OPS hitter and a career .186/.308/.282 hitter in the second half. Bradley could probably have a .750 OPS, he runs the bases better and plays better defense. He also provides more versatility as an option in centerfield. We'd have Gomes and Carp as backup options at the corners.

Based on a small sample though.

He's roughly a career .750 OPS hitter who has roughly a .750 OPS this month. I doubt he's the Nava we saw in April and May.

I think we should hold off on that. But I like the guy a lot so I'm not very objective about it.
