Who would've thought that Mike Carp would turn out to be so awesome? He's been absolutely crushing the ball.

Tiny sample obviously, but Carp's numbers are crazy. He's got 27 total bases in 25 AB's for a slugging pct. of 1.080.

Seems pretty sustainable.

The 2012 team almost made me give up on life in general. They were depressingly awful.

Especially with Captain Ahab at the helm.

...and he sucked floppy donkey cock, kinda like the Yankees.

Germano has sucked for his career but he did well for us in his one appearance last year. He pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Yankees to pick up after a horrible Franklin Morales start. (We lost to another player who was rejuvenated by the Yankees, Freddy Garcia)

I swear to god, they must have the fountain of youth stashed away in yankee stadium somewhere.

And 31 RBI, aka 55% of his total last year.

He's going to be a seriously productive hitter I think. Much better than Gonzalez was for us.

Especially with the way Wells, Hafner, and Overbay are playing. We cut Overbay in Spring Training and he does this. Smh

Napoli's been on an unbelievable tear. I'll have some numbers on that tomorrow. ;)

Fountain of biogenesis.

Sounds about right.

Travis Hafner I thought was done. He's hitting .317 with 6 bombs before April was even over.. and Lyle Overbay is 50.

Buch and Lester have been beyond outstanding at the top of the rotation. Just flip Lester and Buch for a second. Would we not think that Lester to this point has been outstanding for the #2 in a rotation? Buch has been other-worldly.

Of the Sox nineteen wins after tonight, eleven will have come on games they started and ten of the eleven are games where they figured in the decision....That is just unheard of. It is worth checking but you would have to think that it rivals anything any 1-2 starters have ever done at the start of a season at least since the inception of the DH when you figure all of their combined stats.

It doesn't matter at this point, but did anyone look closely into Salty's error? When he attempted to throw, his elbow hit the umpire. It looked like the throw would have been bad or maybe not? Someone else check it out and let me know what you think.

This is the face of 6-0

Is it just me or does his face in this pic resemble the guy from Home Alone. I can't spell his first name and I'm too lazy to look it up. Macaulay Culkin or something like that.

As good as the hitting has been, without the way Lester and Buch have pitched we are slamming away with the rest of the AL trying to bang out more 10-8 victories than the other guys. In the AL that is always a much more iffy proposition than if you can pitch. After Lester and Buch it is Ueh, Taz and Bailey for the way they have closed out games. After them, you get to talk about the everyday players and the way they have played.

Without the way they have pitched to date, this is just another AL team bashing away, trying to break down the fences. Probably winning a few more than they are losing but not many more. Probably something like 16-11 instead of 19-8. That is not necessarily to discount entirely the hitting but other than the Rays, everybody that wins games in the AL, hits.

I finally mustered the strength to look it up and it looks like I got it right.

However, while I do not agree with him, the ump claims that Salty had released the ball BEFORE his elbow hit him. I do not agree, but it does not sound like the call would have gone our way, rightly or wrongly.

The post you quoted...I was talking about my spelling of Macaulay Culkin. That's what I meant by "I looked it up...and I got it right"

Also the Rays blew the game vs. KC, the Orioles are down 5 vs. Seattle halfway through, and Beckett doesn't seem to be doing too well vs. Colorado early. That combined with the Celtics and Bruins successes should make it a great night for Boston. If only NYY could stay down.

Manny, Drew, Lowell, Tek off chase wright

I have a DVD of the highlights of that 2007 season and that four homer burst is the highlight of that reel. Jon Miller was going ape s*** over that barrage, so much so that poor Joe Morgan could hardly get a word in edgewise.

"AND LOWELL BELTS ONE---THAT ONE'S HEADING TO NEW HAMPSHIRE, THREE BOOMING HOME RUNS AND THEY'RE PLAYING HOME RUN DERBY EARLY THIS YEAR AT FENWAY PARI.

Priceless!!!!!!!
