"The Jays just put some huge room between us. Cherington is just too slow on the trigger. I can't imagine how he didn't get in on some of those players."

That wasn't the Dickey trade. I love how when you try to be a prick that you fail miserably.

Oh come on. The first thing we thought of was Ace is really the guy that will be called on if Lackey can't go. You really want to see Ace out there starting games. Ya' gotta be kidding me. Huge huge dif between starting and relieving and Ace is now suspect as a reliever!

That went so far over your head it crashed into the International Space Station and killed a half dozen astronauts.

Hey if we had Dickey and he pitches like this at least the Fenway faithful would have a new target in the middle of the mound to hate. Without Beckett we need somebody to yell at.:D:D

Some people just aren't as good at it as you.
True, No one is better at it than me. It's in my DNA. MVP is a mere pretender when he tries to be a prick.

On another note, he also clearly can't play nice even when our Sox are up 8-0 early in a game. It's quite pathetic that his first post in the game thread is a lame attempt at being a prick.

Hey the Sox constructed that rotation. I can no longer tell what decision will be defended or attacked here. Put a smily face on it or something. We do have our "can do no wrong crowd" to consider.

Now you're just screwing with him, right?

Bautista is a phenomenal hitter, but he sure gets injured a lot. You would think he'd just ask his dealer for some premium hgh to get that stuff taken care of.

I had not noticed I had typed Morcom in a previous post and I tend to scan. Did not even see much less acknowledge the misspellings in the Sox pitchers names till much later.

RA Dickey:

His line: 4.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 2 HR.

His season line: 10.2 IP, 15 H, 12 R, 10 ER, 6 BB, 9 K, 3 HR.

This (Lester) is the best pitching performance we have seen since the season started either side, IMO. I choose to ignore Happ yesterday as a case of bad scouting or something. The Sox approach to him was totally wrong and they paid for it.

Knuckleballers are known to be very inconsistent from year to year and Dickey didn't find whatever he found until his mid-30's. However, I still think that he and Josh Johnson will be more valuable to the Jays this year than Happ.

Iggy still hitting .600 . ha ha. With his speed and defense, Drew will be a hard sell. You can see his value to the team right now on offense and defense.

Dickey had little movement on his knuckler today. Figured he would decline this year.

$9 million that could have been better spent elsewhere.

You also spelled Ciriaco three different ways in the same post yesterday I think haha

Last year, he was lights out. I don't think anyone could realistically expect that kind of performance again.

Everyone is keeping about 10 feet of space between themselves and Jon Lester. Do players do that for shutouts now too?

I think so. When Darvish was throwing his perfect game, nobody would talk to him or even go near him.

I just don't see any way for the Red Sox to send Iggy down. Normally its a big enough challenge when a player is white-hot at the plate, but when you have to look at what elite value he provides defensively on top of that, they definitely have a challenge in front of them.

Dickey also gave up 10 runs in 14 innings in spring & WBC games.
