I just don't see any way for the Red Sox to send Iggy down. Normally its a big enough challenge when a player is white-hot at the plate, but when you have to look at what elite value he provides defensively on top of that, they definitely have a challenge in front of them.

 

No one could have predicted his bat would rapidly heat up though, hence the Drew signing.

I think so. When Darvish was throwing his perfect game, nobody would talk to him or even go near him.

 

Players always do that for no-hitters and perfect games, but I've never seen it for shutouts before.
