I was avoiding checking the score but I just took out my phone and my brother, a big mets fan, texted me "stop raping Dickey" and when I checked the score, I damn near fell off my f***ing couch.

Maybe Gibbons is too oblivious to be pissed. I would be ripped if I were him. Now it's too late. If he sends a pitcher out there to hit a Sox batter in the 9th it will be just spite. Damage is done. Apparently has not even instructed the relievers to earn back inside which they have not owned for even a minute all day.

this team is going to win this year......these guys actually look like they want to play the game.

What a difference from last year. Baseball is fun to watch again.

I will have a s*** eating grin on my face all year......Ben Cherington was crucified around here all offseason by a few members of this board. He did a remarkable job of flushing the crap out of here and bringing in great character guys and a great manager.

This, 10,000 times this. Glad to see you so optimistic SCM, it suits you.

He was raped in his childhood, and the sox just brought those bad memories back

Cherington's moves are looking a lot better this year, yes.

The first real move he was allowed to make was "the trade". He wasn't even allowed to pick his own manager last year.

Huge difference from last year!

I also agree on Cherington. LL should have been shot for hiring BV. A manager Cherington obviously didn't want.

Its not optimism. Its just being realistic. Nobody wanted to hear that they sucked last year. Everyone was in denial from day 1.

I dont care if they lose 100 games as long as they give a s***...play the game the right way and let the talent take care of itself.

I think it's a good thing we got Bobby last year, otherwise we'd have Dale Sveum or some s*** instead of Farrell.

I think the real denial is you denying that you're flirting with the "O" word. ;)

But regardless of what you call it, the new attitude surrounding this team, on the field and with the fans blows last year out of the water. Baseball really is fun again.

That's true. But last season was so excruciating. I do like Farrell, always have.

Any longer up with the big club and these guys are going to have to get used to Iggy encroaching in the infield. Pedey for his part is already fine with it. WMB appears to need a bit more convincing.

What an embarrassment... their field is a carpet with a launch pad at home plate. Apparently the rumors that they steal signs is true since Farrell has had them using multiple signs with no runners on base!

They can't keep the fans off the field and do the wave down 10. Just give up and die.....sink to the basement where all bought and paid for teams surely need to go.

Not the opening home stand the Jays had in mind. And certainly not the day the guys with the DICKKKEY letters envisioned.

That's the damn truth!

Blue Jays are the most overrated team in baseball. They will not finish above 3rd.

That's what people said about the Red Sox last year.

I can see this happening. They have about average pitching once Dickey gets his s*** together. Their lineup is fatally flaw that aces will carved up. None of these hitters work the count except Reyes.

Those head and shoulders commercials.. I think they're trying to say Wilson and Hamilton are the attractive ones on their team.. I couldn't imagine too many women clamoring to smell Jared Weaver's hair.

So Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, J.P Arencibia, and Colby Rasmus, all of whom have P/PA's of 3.70 or higher for their career, and all better than Jose Reyes don't work the count, and he does? GTFO.

Also, (and i don't mean to be rude), but why do you type like a monkey on meth using a typewriter?

Here is one from left field ...I mean really left field. But its a board and its fun to play with stuff.

I should qualify this by saying that one of the things I have never liked about knuckle ball pitchers is that it is a very passive way to pitch. You don't go out there looking to own the inner third with a knuckle ball and if things don't go well it can be pretty disheartening to the pitcher and the team. However, none of the Toronto relievers even made an effort to control the Sox hitters.

That whole Toronto bunch looked kinda' dispirited the whole series....not really into it at all even in games they were in. They apparently can't get Joey Bats back on the field while expecting to before each one of these games and I guess the decision is his.

I am beginning to wonder if this is a team that knows that they will be much involved when the Commish drops the Biogenesis bomb and they are just waiting for their season to end before it starts. Cabrera may be the only big hitter they have playing clean for all we know. He surely cannot afford to miss the pay window for 100 games on top of the 50. He surely does not look like he is getting juice help.

Would we be completely surprised if there were not multiple Jays on the Commish hit list? Also that whole thing of MLB finally deciding that enough is enough came pretty late and really not much more than a month or two before the start of the reg season if memory serves me.
