While I have yet to give up on Pal's Pals....

I totally took one for the team in this draft. Since my entire team likes to have season ending injuries or see their performance fall off a cliff, I picked a pile of pitchers that everyone in Red Sox nation wants to fail. Johnson, Dickey, Beckett... and its only a matter of time before Cobb and Pettite have TJS.

That being said, I want to apologize to everyone for picking Hanrahan.

Israel, good luck!!

Hey Buddy, once again we played to a hard fought draw. You always have the superior offense, and I had the better pitching. We built 2 entirely different types of teams. Yet, people say that we agree on everything.

 true.

You were winning the entire week, somehow I could tied it.

You are right, I have no pitching at all, on the other hand , you have a pretty good staff in that department, If you are interested in a trade, let me know. ;)

Trout was my first pick and arguably the best option before the season started but Kendrick and Segura have been very solid+ thus far and I have plenty of OFs to back him up. I have no pitching at all and a lack at SS, so... It seemed to me very fair, but it is up to you guys.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Brewers made a long-term offer to shortstop Jean Segura.

Advice: "They contacted me," Segura's agent, Joe Klein, confirmed to Rosenthal. "Right now, I guess it's in my court. But with a guy this young, it's hard to figure out what the right numbers would be." Segura, 23, is batting .368/.412/.588 in 36 games this season and is on pace for 26 home runs, 57 stolen bases and 70 runs batted in. He won't even be arbitration-eligible until 2016, so there's no real rush right now from either side.

Top-10 player for a no-name SS riding a hot streak and a journeyman pitcher? Yeah, how about no.

Well, vote against.

:o
Mike Trout for Jean Segura and Kyle Kendrick? That's a sign of iortiz and a700's beautiful friendship
Segura's numbers are almost equal to Trout's. He's a big upgrade over his current SS. Kendrick is having the best year of any Phillie pitcher. i think the trade helps both teams.

Of course if my good friend, Israel wants to reverse the trade, I would not force him to make a trade that he regrets. There would be no hard feelings on my part.

The trade IMO is very fair. I like it but if some is against it I will understand.

Trades that disrupt the competive balance of the leage are the ones that are supposed to get vetoed. We are 2 games apart in the standings and we always play each other to a draw. We will probably be neck and neck with each other right to the end. I guess UN is paranoid being at that top of the standings. He's used to being at the bottom of the heap.

Is there a stat for who's leading the league in trades complained about?

Dipre was hands down the leader of that category in Gom's league when we played. :)

That said I think he does have a point.

I would argue that it would disrupt the competitive balance. Jean Segura is having a great year, but it is fueled by a .400 BABIP, and he's historically been a low .800 OPS guy in the minors. He has a very bright future, and you could make the argument that with positional scarcity that he's a top 80 player. But, he's playing his first full year in the majorsr and will probably go through plenty of bumps in the road, and I just don't think the comparable value is close.

So, trades have to be exactly equal in your opinion or they should get vetoed? That's just ridiculous. Your argument is far from compelling. If you are so sure that this is a one-side trade, you should have no problem making a side bet on Segura vs. Trout using an agreed upon fantasy point system. I'll take Segura. You take Trout. Nothing extravagant. How about $20?

The deal is that you are getting the best player in the game for two waiver wire pickups who went undrafted. Justify it all you want. And sure, I'd take that bet-- assuming we're not including previously accrued fantasy points.

Yeah i sure was at the bottom of the heap playing in the finals last year :harhar:

You sure didn't make it. I think you can't quite difference top from bottom. Old age problems i guess.

^I remember having a similar argument last year (on my way to the Finals, from here on out known as "the bottom" per a700hitter) and being told that a player's draft position and past history are important factors in trades.
