As a Yankee fan I can only sit back on my comfy lazy chair and smile.

As a Red Sox fan, I'd rather die than post on a NYY board.

Face the facts man. We have a mediocre at best starting rotation with a lot of highly priced arms that have not pitched anywhere close to meeting their salaries. Our 3b is 33 and nowhere near the same he was 2 years ago. We have no real answer at catcher, our best hitter is 36, and our star center fielder is often hurt. We have no offensive depth and our bull pen is the worst in the majors.

Please tell me how this team is closer to contending than rebuilding?

The 3B and C have clear replacements in WMB and Lavarnway. There's a ton of money coming off the books this year and prospects who would be possibly ready to fill spots in the bullpen.

The Ellsbury being hurt often stuff is nonsense. Two freak injuries don't make you have JD Drewitis.

What makes me think they're closer to contending and rebuilding is common sense honestly.

Yankees looking like a playoff team. No surprise.

You must be a bit confused. This is a Red Sox foum. The Wankees forum is in a different place.

Cherington & Bobby V wont last long in Boston

By the end of May we'll know for sure. One and a bit months to turn this around.

Front office will open their eyes when fans stop turning up and money stops flowing throughout he gates. The fans are the cash cow and once they stop turning up, some heads will get extracted from from asses.

How could anyone have expected anything else with the dog s*** bull pen Cherrington put together over the winter. Except for A-GON vitually every move Ep-ington has made since 2009 has been a freaking disaster.

Thanks for RIP but I'm still alive and would never post on a NYY board. Knock yourself out.

You stated this already and I read it the first time. You will never post on a NYY board. Move on.

Blow it up does seem a bit extreme because they do have some good pieces. However I also think there are more issues than the arsonists as they have really lost games in every possible way this year.

To much money was spent poorly...left ownership unwilling to spend this year....they thought they could get by with that in a year when other teams had funds to work with and spent them to improve.

There also seems to be a desire to have guys finish their careers here. Nobody that ends up with a long term contract seems to get traded as a means of revitalizing the team. Everybody is kept till they retire or until the contract is up or at least until their trade value falls to a level that makes it hard to move them.

At the end of the day it is the combination of personalities at the top of the organization that I think has eroded the team on the field to the point where it is today.

Will be interesting to see what they do from here.

Oh, I meant this game.

But sure, if this continue for another month, will be very tough come back.

Team has been crap for years now and evidently the "real fans" that are okay with it or deny it everyday are the enablers.

I'll tell you what' date=' this team is a whole lot closer to rebuilding than contending.[/quote']

This is plain nonsense' date=' just so you know.[/quote']

No it's not.

I said the same thing at the end of last year and they did nothing to fix it.

They're f***ed.....it's been a slow decline over the last 2 years. We are worse than we were last year, and if we want to continue to stay within the luxury tax threshold with all of these terrible contracts........then we're f***ed I'm the immediate future as well.
