15 runs. The Sox are not a concern to us in 2012. We need to focus on Texas' date=' Tampa and Detroit. The Red Sox are rivals in name only.[/quote']

14 runs. Watch the game moron. Tex hit a solo shot off Doubront in the 6th. Now go away because you are worthless, even as a troll.

anyone agree that bobby valentine was a BAD choice? takes pitchers out too early when they're doing well and keeps them in when they're doing s**t

The guy's always been a goon. I said so when he was hired and stand by it. Typical old baseball goon.

Anyway, s***** loss but it is only one loss. Need I repeat that last year's team started the same way (4-10) but still held the best record in the AL in late August. A bullpen arm or two would definitely help the cause but to act like a major shakeup is necessary is laughable.

Last years team was much better than this years team ,

the offense is playing with 4 bench players and they have absolutely nothing in the pen

I wouldn't get so worked up over it. We've faced some good teams the past few series. The bullpen will not always play this bad. They're better than what they've showed so far. It's hard to think optimistic right now but it's true. See if this was September and we're facing teams like Royals, Mariners, etc. I'd be pretty worried.

However, there are not enough arms in this pen to sustain any sort of consistent run. In order to go on a run like they did from May through August last season, they will need to win lots of 1 and 2 run games. This bull pen does not have the arms. If we wait for Dice K and Hill to come back, we will be in a deep hole and the team will be psychologically destroyed.

Papelbon's gone. Bard is in the rotation.

Somehow some of us think that we can run like last year, losing in April and Winning through May-Aug. I don't see that happening unless the FO make a move (whatever that means). BP is as important as the rotation. Some underrate them. You just can't win games without a decent one. Our is very close to be a mediocre one. Aceves is not a closer. Morales is not a setup guy. Tazawa is a mystery. After them, what you got?.

Well that does not translate to mediocre or even near mediocre iortiz...that translates to terrible. Acives pitched like he was panic stricken last night. That is the first time I have ever seen him aiming the ball. I have seen him throw instead of pitch but I have never seen him aiming the ball before.

Tazawa is about the only guy I could point to and even that is only because he has been good in a very small sample size.

Frankly they don't have the starting pitching to win close games or keep teams down to small numbers and you will knock me over with a feather if they end up with the best offense in the AL this year.

Not only do they get to miss a game that they really did not need to play tonight but they get to get outta' town. I suspect that is good thing right now.

Terrible?, ok terrible then...

Aceves is a great reliever, the thing is that he is not a closer. No in the majors. I've been saying over and over that only few can close and shut down the business. Handle the pressure in the 9th is something else, mostly when is a close game. You need nerves of steel. Here we call it "balls". Balls gave Pap that contract.

Agree they need go on the road for a while.

I dont think the road helps them. The Twins are gonna hit this season, you can count on that. For once, I dont think they will pitch like they have in the past. And the White Sox have started out well. You are gonna run into 2 teams that will probably finish with 75-85 wins this week on the road with your pen in shambles. Plus, the sox have never been a good road team. The road is the last place you want to be right now, even with a volatile fan base

Doesn't matter where or what, they have to play the games they have to play. A change of scenery might do them some good. Just getting away from the scene of the crime might do them some good. Besides Jacko you just love to create these "it is all catastrophic no matter what they do, damned if they do and damned if they don't" scenarios so your credibility in this case is much in question.

Mentally and far from Boston environment, could help.

On the other hand, if we lose the series against Minnesota and Chicago, I wonder, which teams are we going to beat then... The O's?:dunno:
