Fred' date=' this is where the line gets crossed. People do not come to a baseball message board to be subjected to other people's diatribes, or threatened with it as if it's a punishment.[/quote']

Did you even read the post Bob? IT WAS IF THIS CONTINUES OTHERS WILL MAKE MY GRIPES LOOK LIKE MILK TOAST. That meant not me, but Muggah, Pumpsie and Elk who I know can put me to shame when they get their backs up. I think this short post was very ill advised because one of the team's chief pollyannas has adopted it as part of his lexicon. I guess he can't read between the lines any better than you did my friend. In the meantime Jacko, a Yankee fan picked up on it.

No matter what you think, the vast majority of fans here and on other boards are going to be up in arms if what went down last season occurs again. That's just human nature. We want to win. PERIOD!!!!!!

Now a public service announcement....In book stores today, Sports Illustrated has come out with special edition called "FENWAY PARK 1912-2012--CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF HALLOWED GROUND." I bought my copy today and it's a gem that old time fans, johnny come latlies and those with as little passion as a carrot can all enjoy. There, I did my good deed for the day.

No need to read between the lines. Your whining and back-patting is annoying now, and taking it to even more aggressive levels (unless you don't actually know what a diatribe is) is only going to piss people off more at your ********.

What Bellhorn said was absolutely spot on.

It is still too early to freak out about starting pitching. NO ONE out here knows what the morale in the clubhouse will be this season or problems that will exist in the dug out. This is just ridiculous speculation. I don't mind warranted negativity towards the Red Sox. 2012 is not 2011.

Some of us have moved on from 2011. I'll never forget 2011 but I will move on.

And please, no need for foolish condescension, I remember Ted Williams.

Well I was taking a page from the book of Williams and not failing to look a bald fact in the face. The bald fact was our collapse last year---the question HAS THE TEAM MOVED ON FROM IT? It matters not if we've moved on because we don't hit, pitch, run and throw. I take it you read what Beckett said the other day of the problems the team endured last September. From what he told the interviewer he didn't seem to think he and his pals did anything wrong; in o ther words there was no show of repentence for what they were doing in the clubhouse during the games. To me it could be a worry. It is not ridiculous speculation at all; it is a concern. To the point, I have already made reservations for one Red Sox series this season (in Chicago) and am looking forward to one at Fenway later on. It would be great to see that the team has moved on and we vie for a title of some kind---division, AL or WS. Right now I see a team that could win the division (surprise?--I've said that all winter) but just about everything has to break right for us to do it since we don't have the depth that some other teams in our division do in the pitching department. For the record, I am keeping my fingers crossed on that.

I've listened to about all I want to from you. You've become a sniveling know-it-all who thinks he has all the answers and put his nose up to others who think differently. Most importantly you get your balls in an uproar when anyone writes something you disagree with and get personal in the exchange---and, yes, you have a lot of trouble comprehending what is being written. And for the record, you've pissed off more people than I could in a year, and if I want to criticize what the front office has done and doing I will do it and if you don't like it you could shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Now bug off and don't let me hear from you again.

Hey, the fact that you're so quick to get personal is a reflection of exactly the point Bellhorn was trying to make, who's in the uproar here? You are over 70 years old. Act like it.

Suit yourself, but don't get pissy when you get run off from here just like sawxheads.

Also, i will post what i want where i want to thank you very much.

For the record I still post on Sawxheads and one of the five or six heaviest posters on that board so once again your info is bogus. I also don't personal unless someone gets personal with me, but you know what? You may actuall have a point, strange as that might seem. I'm going to make it my business to completely ignore you because you are argumentative and disagreeable just to be argumentative and disagreeable. As for Bellhorn he is a friend and I don't take anything personal that he says about me. We've had our differences before and have worked them out.

I do think, though, that it might be a good idea if we don't communicate for a week or so until we cool things down. I'm being nice now since my LA Lakers took the Boston Celtics tonight in overtime. A helluva game too.

Don't fall for the baiting Fred. He is a master baiter.

I'm just saying that easing up on the "diatribes" ain't a bad idea. You seem not to have read the part where i said that people jumping on you wasn't fair either. Go back through the thread. You tend to reply post-by-post without reading everything, then s*** like this happens. Just sayin'.

Don't get mad bro. Also, for all of the bad blood, we share passion for not only one, but two sports teams. I've been a diehard Lakers fan all my life.

Well we have something to celebrate together tonight. I thought I was the only Lakers fan on this board. OK, let's try to slow down the temperature a little. I still like you even though you sometimes piss me off. Then, again, I probably piss you off too. Tell the truth, though.....you do like to push my buttons, don't you? Sometimes it's easy for me to get my Italian up.

Oh you elderly people and your corny puns and nicknames.

Elderly sound better than old Emmz---and didn't you call me Pops last time out? Hey, young lady, you can keep calling me that. My wife loved reading that. She's a Midwestern girl like you---Nebraska, Illinois and your Minnesottah.

Pushing buttons is part of my job description.

I'm a Laker fan now by association. My daughter is a huge Laker fan and I started watching their games with her and gradually I became a fan. This is what happens when you don't really have a favorite team in a sport. The Red Sox is the only team I live and die over. They're plenty!

Good for your daughter Bob to reel you in. I have been surprised with the number of Lakers fans on this board; I thought this was enemy Celtics country for sure. I have been following this basketball team now for 50 years since their second season in LA and it bothers me when they lose, but I get over it. I've been rooting for the Red Sox for a little over 11 years and with them it's life or death. I have no Lakers room in my house, I don't have a Raiders room in my house and certainly not a Ducks one--only as Red Sox one, and that should make MVP 78 very happy.;););););););););););)

You are certainly free to be a Lakers fan-as long as you act like a Celtics fan in public.;)

You live in CA. Why would I care if you're a Lakers/Raiders/Sparks fan?

As long as you're not a Bruin, I have no problems with you.

The closer a person lives to Fenway gives them more of a claim to being a Red Sox fan?
