Except for Berkman, the Cardinals seem to be flailing away at bad pitches.

Pitchers appreciate a little help.

Ogando walks a couple of guys in the 6th to load the bases.

Jay comes up and swings at the first pitch to make the 3rd out.

I get the impression the Rangers are the best team in baseball.

But it ain't over yet.

I am doing my best to talk up the Rangers. That should at least insure that the Cards come back in this game anyway.

It was such a mistake letting Beltre walk. Look at what this guy has accomplished at his age. He is on an HOF trajectory. The Sox should have traded Youkilis and kept Beltre. This is admittedly 20-20 hindsight. It wasn't foreseeable that Youk's body would start breaking down so rapidly.

Wow Cruz is having a monster post season.

It's all come together for the Rangers. Theo's love affair for Adgon corrupted his senses.

Washington, by the way, was an asst coach in Oakland under Billy Bean. He knows all about Beanball.

Anybody know who the first manager of the Texas Rangers franchise was?

(hint: he once played LF for the Red Sox).

Can you believe Larussa has left himself with a completely empty bench in the 8th inning like this.

Can you believe that two guys in a row come up swinging at the first pitch, one a pinch hitter ridding the pine all game and then Furcal who has not been able to punch out a paper bag in the series. Heck for Furcal a walk is a run for God's sake.

Teddy Ballgame.

You beat jung by a minute.

Ted was the first manager of the new Washington Senators franchise in 1969, and

led them to a winning record, winning MOY. Imagine, winning MOY his first year managing

I was actually at the first game of the season at Fenway that Ted managed with Washington.

The Senators won that game; Frank Howard hit a HR. Williams got a huge welcome from the fans.

After a couple of years, Short bought the team and moved it to Texas and renamed it the Texas Rangers. The story is Ted didn't like Texas and left after a year.

Got most of this stuff reading Moneyball.

In truth if not for him the Cards would have stood a good chance of being swept out of this series. Almost amazed that they still have a chance here.

This would be much more tense if the Cards had managed one more run out of that bases loaded deal last inning. Furcal what the hell are you doing...trying to look attractive to the Sox. He came up with bases loaded so you gotta' at least take one stinkin' lousy pitch.

In his first year managing the Senators, he helped remarkably improve the hitting of several guys who had never hit much. Eddie Brinkman, an all field no hit SS hit something like .280 under Williams. That was probably 50 points over his career average. Mike Epstein also had a very good year if memory serves me correctly. I think Aurelio Rodriguez also blossomed under Williams. Williams problem was that he hated pitcher, especially bad pitchers like the Senators/Rangers had.

Wow, Craig is looking outside, Napoli is set up outside and Feliz makes a mistake middle inside that freezes Craig at the plate. Funny game this baseball.
