Burnett seems to get in trouble when he has too much stuff. Meaning, he operates a little better with slightly less velocity and movement. On days when his stuff looks just wicked, he typically cannot find the zone and then he needs to groove the ball. I dont think it is injury, it is just the nature of the beast with this guy

In terms of the Yankees overall performance, right now nothing is working. They are too good to continue this way, so I expect them to bounce back in short order. All teams hit a rut eventually, this is ours

so burnett is having a career worst year because his stuff is too good this season? hmmm, that's... creative

yeah, i figured they'd slump eventually. even the best teams do. if the sox are lucky the yankees will continue to slump for 5 more games

thank god. hearing about that d-bag on a daily basis sucked

Imagine what it'll be like when No. 700 comes around in like 2013.

I like the way Posada and Hughes have adjusted this past inning. I am perfectly fine with Hughes operating at or above the letters. His FB may be 92-93, but he hides it well so letter high FBs are rarely turned on. I would have caution as the game goes on, though. Cause 6 inches lower and the pitches are meatballs

A-roid*

Yes we all know Alex Rodriguez used steroids for during the 3 years he was in Texas out of his 17 year career, does that mean the other 14 years should count for nothing? Alex had his best career year in 2007 and won the AL MVP when drug testing was well in place. Obviously he's far talented enough to be an elite player without Roids.

if a-rod said he only used steroids for 3 years it must be the truth. juuuuuust like when he said that he never used them

and mlb drug testing is a joke. the companies designing steroids are 10 steps ahead of them and they don't even test for hgh

A-rod isn't what he used to be

He's still very capable of being a .290 30HR 120RBI player this yr, which is what I think he will end up with. Surprisingly enough, hitting in front of Cano has caused his OBP to go down a bit. Not many people willing to bypass ARod to face NYY's best hitter

He'll end up with an OPS in the high .800s.

what about his .724 ops since the all-star break makes you think he's gonna raise his ops by 100 points by the end of the year? may's the only month all year in which he's had an ops over .777
