why's that? i'm following on gameday

The two hits were very soft.

And I would be OK with this pitching change if Rivera was coming out of the pen, but not Robertson.

gotcha. is anyone warming up behind robertson?

yankees win. it wasn't pretty but it may have been good for them to get robertson in that kind of a high pressure situation to get him mentally ready for a playoff atmosphere

i can't help but picture jm in a hitler costume screaming "the allies will not win this war! we are superior!" every time he refuses to acknowledge that a team that's only 4 games out of a playoff spot is not out of contention

It surprises me how much these hitters trust Kevin Long. For an established player like Berkman to come here, and then move closer to the plate because Long apparently wanted him to is interesting.

It's amazing how many singles the Royals hit.

EDIT: In terms of allowing stolen bases, the Yankees are like the Red Sox were earlier in the year, just without the same amount of publicity.

And the Moseley luck is running out. Pettitte had a setback today.

But the rotation is in great shape!

EDIT: They have to do something about these stolen bases.

What happened to Pettitte... did the needle break off in his ass?

Yeah, I heard Verducci say he likes the Yanks' staff over the Rays' staff in the postseason if Pettite comes back.

What is he smoking?

I'm not saying I agree with him, but the Rays have a lot of problems of their own.

Nice play by Tex there.

Price, Garza, and Niemann (assuming he comes back) blow Sabathia, Burnett, and Pettitte out of the water. And Hellickson (if he sticks around) is damn good, better than Hughes IMO.

Lots of question marks though. We have no idea what's going to happen with Neimann and Pettitte. Price is approaching uncharted innings territory, and going forward I'd take CC over him. And while I'd obviously rather have Garza over Burnett, Garza hasn't exactly been great this year with an ERA of almost four. I'd probably prefer the Rays' rotation, but I don't think there's that big of a disparity.
