Is it me or did Sabathia eat an entire cow once a day during the off season? He looks a bit.... more.. rotund.

And the cow's family. Also the owner of the farm, and most of the Haitian quake victims.

I don't know' date=' the hand looked like it was in there. I didn't think that Cameron was out.[/quote']

He wasn't, but the 1B ump couldn't resist the opportunity for the emphatic punchout, not on opening night.

When will these chumps realize nobody is there for their calls?

Reminds me of Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun

God forbid MLB brings in video review for calls like that. Why get the call right when the game can end 5 mins earlier?

I was having flashbacks to '09 ALDS Game 1, the CB Bucknor Classic.

I think they should start fining the umps when they grandstand with the call. That's the only way to take the "Look at me" factor out of them doing their job.

Something tells me Ellsbury is gonna splatter against the monster like a bug on a windshield at some point this year.

His is a different kind of meat. ===>

Yeah, it doesn't help the joke when you point out the obvious innuendo.

I really hate when the umps think that they are part of the event. Does anybody remember Ron Luciano. He was a showboating ump who became an announcer. Yaz hated his showboating and inserting himself as a spectacle. Anyway, in Luciano's book "The Empire Strikes Back" he recounted an interaction with Yaz when Yaz was in a slump. Luciano used to like to talk to the players during the game even when he was umpiring the plate. He's ask them about their families etc. Yaz stepped into the box this one day and turned to Luciano and said: "My wife is fine, my kids are fine, I haven't had any good Polish food lately, and my son Mike is hitting .400. Now shut the f*** up and let me hit.

What's with the surprise, everyone. Seeing a game without a dicked-up call or two is a rarity. Bud Selig should hand that issue to his dumbass select committees: "What should we do about these dick-weed umpires?"

Captain Obvious isn't a style, it's an affliction.
