And so...it begins.

After a disappointing first round exit in the 2009 postseason, the Red Sox are back. Minus slugger Jason Bay, they nonetheless come into 2010 with several new faces, most of them promising a great year. John Lackey, Marco Scutaro, and Adrian Beltre are just some of the first-year Red Sox who look to make a splash with the team and the fans.

Opening Day at Fenway. Not just Opening Day, but Opening Day against the New York Motherf***ing Goddamn Stupid f***ing Yankees. Sound like fun? You betcha! The New York Yankees also come into Opening Day with several new faces, and missing some familiar ones. They also won the World Series or some stupid thing. Whatever.

Now, for your starting pitchers:

For the Red Sox: Josh Beckett, the Yankee Slayer. The Red Avenger. The Furious Fastball. Assorted Nicknames.

For the Yankees: CC Sabathia, The Pudgy Pitcher. The 'Mazing Meatball. The Hefty Human. Assorted Fat Jokes.

Not these, these will come true...

Beckett will struggle at some point, and Jacko will suggest injury.

The first good offensive thing from the Yankees will bring an, "atta baby", whatever the f*** that means.

Drew will leave someone on, which will elicit at least one "Nancy" or something equivalent.

If Manny Delcarmen pitches in the game, the Sox will lose.

Red Sox's lineup a possible preview

WASHINGTON , mlb.com-- Manager Terry Francona said the Red Sox's starting lineup for Saturday's final exhibition game vs. Washington at Nationals Park is likely the one he'll go with for Opening Night against the Yankees.

The lineup features Jacoby Ellsbury (left field) leading off, followed by Dustin Pedroia (second base), Victor Martinez (catcher) and Kevin Youkilis (first base) in the cleanup spot. David Ortiz (designated hitter) is fifth, followed by Adrian Beltre (third base), J.D. Drew (right field), Mike Cameron (center field) and Marco Scutaro (shortstop) batting ninth.

Francona said he had to make a decision about splitting up Ortiz and Drew for strategic reasons.

"I did like the idea of J.D. hitting behind David, but it's just too easy for the other manager to use one left-hander," Francona said.

It can't get here quick enough. I love the night game: finish with Easter, get the kids to bed....then there are no distractions!

Sunday night game is a stupid idea. Especially on Easter.

Couldn't agree more. It's so annoying. Oh well, Yankees probably drop 2 of 3. No worries.
