If you think that Bay' date=' Ellsbury, Drew, and Cameron will all be on this team then you are sillier than i thought[/quote']

Part i'm referring to.

But it's the part that I'm referring to that makes what you said not matter, because i already said i knew it was hypothetical. You see? We agree.

You still went out of your way to say i'm "sillier than you thought" meaning you think i'm "silly" in the first place. I take offense to that.

All right folks.

The Hot Stove season is upon us.

Last years hot stove thread was a pretty darn good one

with not just Sox talk but all baseball hot stove matters.

IMO, all Sox matters as well as baseball rumours, buzz, hear say, BS, anything goes and might as well have some damn fun with it as well.

So here we go.

Let the insanity begin.

You ARE silly.

So am I of course.

We're silly because we spend hours on this forum nattering on about a team in its offseason. you have to admit, that's pretty out there.

The world is full of silly people.

What's really silly is thinking that being silly is a bad thing all on its own.

It's bad thing depending on the connotation applied. In life, everything is about context.

We're talking about the whole 4 outfielders thing, so I figure I need to put in my two cents

One of them is J.D. Drew. I'd bet my life on him having some sort of injury this year.

why? he was healthy last season, and really has played most of the year in most every year of his career.

just a warning, back off JD.

JD Drew didn't get injured last year. Even if he got injured next year, in the scenario i proposed Ellsbury would jump in for him.

Don't see the need to bash Drew though.

this thread has become very...silly.

I find your statement proclaiming that this thread has become very...silly to be very shallow and pedantic.

If by some way Bay does come back to the Sawx, Ellsbury is not guaranteed to be moved. What needs to happen is a deal of Mike Lowell.

And I'm very dissatisified with Lowell's decision to get the thumb corrected now and not back in October after the playoffs were over.

He's a big softy. Doesn't anyone remember last season when he was taking a bunch of days off, and he told Francona his back hurt, and Francona just told him to suck it up? He is also coming off shoulder surgery too.

He's a softy huh?

So the fact that Francona platooned him religiously doesn't play a factor?

Also, if i recall correctly, Theo commended Drew in an interview for letting the team know about injuries before they aggravated like Manny DelCarmen?

So wait, if he tries not to be an idiot and let an injury aggravate costing his extremely productive presence in the lineup for a prolonged period of time he's a softy?

Well ok then.

I would like to see the Sox pick up Jermain Dye if the price is right on a 2 year deal. He and Hermida can platoon with Drew when he is out and Cameron or Ellsbury in Left when needed. He can also DH against Lefties and Pinch hit. Look at his numbers, he is solid. Good teams need guys like him to help our young guys learn the ropes.

And come playoff time we have a guy who isn't like a deer in the headlights, he has been there a few times.

Only if Ellsbury is traded(which I'm not advocating, I didn't want him moved for Santana, I'd rather they not move him now). Other then that, it makes little sense.

I haven't been following Houston much... what's the deal with Miguel Tejada, and why does no one seem interested in him? He's been healthy for eternity, hits 300 and plays 3rd and SS. Are his off-field problem that big of an issue?

He's becomming a statue and could probably benefit from DHing. He also probably wants a multi year deal, and most teams are going to be hesitant to offer more then one year guranteed IMO.

Well....no. He might be just just as good or better, but he is definately harder to be a fan of than say Nixon or Daubach or Billy Mueller

Why is it harder?

I don't know about you, but i'm a fan of production and little drama.
