I don't know how down the O's would be with that' date=' they have some decent pitching prospects, maybe not Buck caliber but I believe they have some that are close and I doubt they are willing to give up many of their prospects for a pitcher who has yet to have a succesful full season I don't see them being involved.[/quote']

Good point. However, I think if another lower level prospect was thrown to orioles they'd do it. Think about this.

Reimold gone, Buchholz in and it opens spot for Holliday. Orioles do have interest in him, I doubt he'd go there, but that would be crazy! Orioles seem like they want to compete this year by making a lot of singings such as Gonzalez and Atkins and trading for Millwood. Watch out for Orioles in a few years.

Another one (just throwing ideas out there).

Cardinals, Brewers, Tigers, red sox involved.

red sox get: Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder.

Cardinals get Youk, Lester, Verlander

Brewers get: Pujols

Tigers get: a s*** load of prospects.

Are you high?

Dude, why would the we want to give up Youk and Lester? So we can get two 1B while giving up one and trading away an ace? Tigers aren't giving up their best offensive player and their best pitcher for prospects. Seriously dude.

That would be terrible for everyone except the Cards and Brewers, and blockbusters may happen but that is far too much, and all of the mentioned players aside from Miggy and Fielder are about as close to untouchable as you can get in the MLB.

Question doesn't make sense to me...

But i think you meant do I root for the sawx, then yes I do. :D

Thanks for being nice.

Since were off topic anyway: What is with the duck picture?

Yeah, basically. I don't think he's serious. This has to be a joke account. Like I said, Gosawks comes to mind.

Then make serious points, stop talking about stupid trades. Like I said, you sound like a joke account so far, so you'll be treated accordingly.

Say, are you really tired? You seem to not be able to read.

I clearly stated I was throwing an idea out there and it was discussed, wether it was bad or good, it got some replies and I now know it was a dumb idea.

Chill.

If you want to be taken seriously, you should make serious posts. You don't think I'd be ridiculed if I were to say "let's trade Kevin Youkilis for Albert Pujols in a 1B swap!!". It's the same thing. You're absolutely out of your mind.

No it was not, Miguel Cabrera could play 3B, Fielder could play 1B for 1 year. the next year: Slide Miggy to DH, then let Ortiz go. it would be insane lineup and obviously would cost a lot.

It could make sense, but obviously it was just an idea, I doubt Pujols is even available. Pujols is best player in MLB and would obviously take a lot to receive him. It was obviously just an idea and you could of just said no way this works instead of calling me a joke and trying to tarnish my image. But thanks for being like that about a simple idea.

"Whatever" sounds like something a 13-year-old girl would say. It's really that simple. Oh, and it's "gangsta" to swear. Right.

If you were so anti-cussing, you wouldn't even say those words. You'd cringe. Like I said, all adds up to joke account.

I think they sound like great trades... i bet if everyone just sleeps on the idea of a four way blockbuster you'll all come around. WAY TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX DUCKY!!!!!!!

TBH, while his trade proposal was nuts he did nothing that warrants attack Emmz, if it is a joke account responsible for filling the forum with useless clutter then let the mods worry about it, and if that is the case he will be swiftly dealt with, but attacking him for that is a little harsh.

The first world series team was a bunch of idiots. Bloody sock, cowboy up, plus the antics of Pedro, Ortiz and Manny, Damon's long hair etc. The 2007 team was like that too-- Remember what a riot the bullpen got to be by the end of that season? They haven't won a world series since they traded away Manny and Schilling retired.

You have to also understand that when you sign a big contract player, its not just about production. Its about how you can sell them. When Boras talked about how Manny's presence alone would sell tickets, he wasn't just trying to oversell-- big name players with strong characters sell tickets. Why do you think the Memphis Grizzlies picked up Allen Iverson when he clearly doesn't help the team any? J.D. Drew is a big contract player who generates very little interest whatsoever. Compare the production of J.D. Drew with Ortiz, and the next time you're at fenway compare the number of Drew Jersey's versus Ortiz ones.

The FO loves Drew, and hates drama, that's why they shipped Manny off.

The FO thinks one thing, you think another. Who do i believe?

Yea, I agree. That really came out of nowhere. Why the urge to jump all over new people?

He's not Gosawks.

Not to jump on the defense team or anything, but i really thought it was Gosawks as well.

I'm not arguing with the FO, they know what sells tickets, and time and time again they like having the right mix of productivity and personality.

The lighthearted atmosphere is what made 2004 the first team to get them past a 3 game deficit and break a curse that had gotten into the heads of 86 teams before them. I understand wanting players who aren't cancers to the clubhouse, but at the same time having an atmosphere where everyone is having fun and genuinely comfortable with eachother throughout the season creates such team chemistry that players get over slumps faster, and young players can go out there without the stress of needing the approval of the stone-faced veterans AND the approval of millions of fans. It also helps to keep the foreign players feeling involved despite language barriers.

People wonder why Ortiz, Bay, Penny, Smoltz, Tek, Lowrie, Green, Daisuke, Lugo (defensively) all seemed to get into unusually long slumps that they couldnt get out of. It seemed like at no time was the whole team "on" at the same time, and don't tell me team chemistry has nothing to do with that.

Team chemistry had nothing to do with that.

Ortiz started his training late, and couldn't get into a groove until after the first two months. What does chemistry have to do with that?

Tek and Lugo are simply not good. Lugo has always been a mediocre defender, and Tek is an aging catcher. Nothing to do with chemistry.

Nick Green is a career journeyman who had a career year both offensively and defensively. I'm surprised he's even being mentioned here.

Brad Penny was Brad Penny. Nothing to do with chemistry.

John Smoltz had a mecanical glitch that they found when he got to Saint Louis. Don't see how chemistry affects that.

Lowrie was injured. Ditto for Dice-K, who showed up out of shape and overworked from the WBC.

Bay quite simply dissapeared, but slumps happen and team chemistry has nothing to do with it.

The lighthearted atmosphere was not a factor in 2007. Between the Manny drama and the core of the idiots gone, this team won a championship. Besides, in reality, i doubt any of us knows what really goes on behind closed doors in the ballclub.

With ATL shedding 11.5M in the Vasquez trade, anyone think they are serious contenders for Bay or Holliday now? It would suck if the get Bay from a Red Sox stand point because of the Draft pick compensation. They already have ATL's 1st rounder. I hope the y make a huge push for Holliday and St. Louis ends up going after Bay.

Or worst case scenario NY is making room for Holliday/Bay.
