The fact of the matter is, the FO may be guilty of running the team like a fantasy owner with the knee jerk reaction they made there. Both he and Penny were bad at the same time, and they made the decision to go with Penny. Given the choice to see which of them could right the ship, my answer have been Smoltz. Yesterday, today, forever.

I still think it's not the "Tipping blablabla" he wasn't locating and was paying for it.

 

Maybe they found a mechanical glitch and fixed it, that i can buy, but still, he didn't look like a pitcher who could get outs consistently in the AL East.

I really hope not. Mauer is having an all time great year. But for the same reasons you think that Mauer won't be the AL MVP, I think Greinke won't be the Cy Young. Although I honestly believe there is a much better chance Mauer wins the MVP than Greinke wins the Cy Young.
