Why are you guys Tigers' fans? Does it have to do with who the Yankees face in the ALCS?

ALDS, and yes.

Simply put, we're choosing the lesser of two sucks to face you guys.

Well, the way Verlander is pitching, this one seems to be in the bag. I still think Minnesota can win the next two. Or at least I can hope.

As for the ALDS, I would be very surprised if they lost to the Twins, but I wouldn't be if they lost to the Tigers. What I don't like is that Verlander is slated to pitch Sunday. That would line him up to pitch games two and five. In my estimation, that creates a problem. While the Tigers would have no one to match up with CC, the Yankees would have no one to match up with Verlander. Based simply on the pitching match ups, one can reasonably expect the Tigers to split the first two. If that happens, they would just need to take one game at home to push the series to five games. The game five pitching match up would be Verlander against Burnett. That scares me, and I think it very well might happen.

Come on Mauer.

EDIT: Leyland stuck with Verlander for way too long. I can't believe he got Mauer out after being down 2-0 in the count, with what he has right now.

EDIT 2: He sticks with him for way too long, yet doesn't pay for it in the end. The worst part is that he went out to the mound before the Cuddyer AB (reminiscent of the 2006 postseason) and Verlander got him out. I'm sure Leyland is going to be praised for his decisions.

That's my one knock on Jimmy L.

He has no pitch count.

I'm surprised they managed to make him treat Porcello with the kid gloves honestly.

Him and his .328 OBP haven't been so awesome this year.

With a higher OBP, his 30 HR season might've meant something.

So awesome...

He's a hell of a player and he's very insightful and intelligent, he's been fantastic doing coverage for the playoffs the last few years.

It's a pretty big knock. He's lucky he doesn't have Dusty's reputation of killing pitchers.

I'd take Granderson over Ellsbury any day of the week.

I'd take Granderson over Ells on everyday of the week except for wednesdays and thursdays.

Anyway, the the Rockies winning basically ends the Braves season. Rockies magic number is now 1.

I think that's mostly because he can recognize "rubber arms" or he's just f***in' lucky.
