I think Gardenhire is actually pretty decent. Makes the most with what he's got. They compete every year in the AL Central. Would someone like Tito put them over the top? I don't think so.

I think Cox is overrated...and isnt he too old now to even walk his wrinkly ass to the mound, he never gets ejected anymore because he cant climb the stairs out of the dugout in time to argue with the ump, he has just resorted to yelling "f*** YOU BLUE!!" from the dugout in the hopes that the Ump will oblige him and throw his handicapped ass out so that he can make it back to the retirement home in time for BINGO night.

So Cox is a bad manager?

Because he's a hell of a lot better than Eric Wedge.

I know no one but me and See Red care, but Jim Tracy is doing a hell of a job since taking over for Clint "Can't Get Over The" Hurdle.

Rockies 2.5 up in the WC

Actually, I care. The Rockies are one of my favorite secondary teams. And yes, they're on fire.

Guys, does it get ANY better than the Padres @ Natinals? I mean really, does it?

I bet people they let the few souls walking up to the gates in free.

I CANNOT imagine anything better.

A guy I work with is actually at the Natinals game tonight w/ his kids. Whoo Hooo!

Phils v. Cards on Fox right now, that's a potential playoff matchup. Rodrigo Lopez is pitching for the Phils and is bringing back some memories.

EDIT: Lugo is 2 for 2.

Yet to make an error, to.

It's coming.

Well Lugo is now 3 for 3 with 2 singles, and RBI double, SB, and RS.

Did he ever have a line like that here?

I've been posting on a Card's board and following members comments there. It's hysterical. They are in love with the trade. "The Cardinals best trade ever". "Thank you Boston".

One member posted "Seriously, WTF Lugo?"

I responded by suggesting that Card's fans would be saying that in another context once Lugo boots a ground ball or makes an errant throw that allows runs to score and games to be lost.

Miserable call on a play at the plate in the Cubs-Reds game. Bases loaded with 1 out for the Reds, runner tries to score on a sac fly and is called out. The Cubs' announcers were praising the play, and when they saw on replay that there was no tag...silence.

I feel like stuff like this is happening at an unusual and alarming rate.

I get that feeling alot too, but it could be that the announcers focus on the ability to use replay so much so we get to see it a little easier...

Check out this lineup San Diego threw out there today:

1. Everth Cabrera SS - .237

2. Will Venable CF - .217

3. Chase Headley LF - .238

4. Kevin Kouzmanoff 3B - .244

5. Kyle Blanks RF - .188

6. Oscar Salazar 1B - .143

7. Luis Rodriguez 2B - .199

8. Eliezer Alfonzo C - .190

Most AAA teams can do better than that.

Arizona failed to turn 3 double plays in the 5th inning of tonight's game vs. Philly.

In the first one, they couldn't even get an out, and in the other 2, runs scored.

Talk about Suck and Fail.

Ryan Howard's nose and Clay Zavada's 'stache=EPIC.

Lincecum=The White Pedro...

Absolutely. How many pitchers with frames like Pedro's and Lincecum's have been able to dominate like them?

There's a pretty good chance Lincecum has a much more durable career as well.

His FBM throwing ensures minimal impact on his throwing arm.

If he's gonna blow something up, it'll be his elbow, because the amount of torque he puts into that curveball is unreal.
