haha word.

So how about Manny and Tex? lol

Ken Davidoff reports that the Yankees are going to try to avoid Scott Boras this offseason, and as we know he happens to represent both Tex and Manny. I doubt it's true, I'm not a big Davidoff guy and idk where he got that from, but I guess we'll see. I hope thats not the case because as we know I badly want manny protecting A-Rod in the 5 spot.

Dude, nice aviator, what do you think of mine?

just guessing here

how could any self respecting yankee fan, baseball fan, person want manny ?

the HOF best RH hitter in the game

should be black balled by all the owners for what he did to get out of his contract

besides the 5th hole is not the problem, not even close

dude it's a BB board, as long as we understand it doesn't matter

I mean if you aren't smart enough to be able to understand what I'm saying

how can I expect you to be smart enough to understand the context of the post ?

If you're not going to take the time to check your posts for spelling, grammar and stupidity, why should I take the time to read it?

I can't beleive rice is not in the HOF yet

I figured all the tainted stats of the 90's would help his case

I hope he gets in soon

so we don't have to listen to him on nesn anymore ;-)[/color]

I don't think Rice deserves to be in the Hall at all. Even if he gets in, why would he stop going on NESN? Eckersley is on.

Just so you know, english is my 2nd language as well, so that is no excuse.

Just so you know, english is NOT my 2nd language

but proper spelling and grammar has no connection to baseball knowledge

Great, so in your first day you've proven yourself an idiot and a liar.

It's not spin. By your examples of luck, one can only conclude that every team is lucky, because every team has escaped a sunk cost contract by the player taking another offer, and every team has had a diamond in the rough break out.

Good fortune is a component, but I also think that some credit should to their way as well. They didn't flinch and go the extra year or higher dollar value. Their evaluation was contibutory to the player taking other offers. Their evaluation recognized undervalued talent.

As I said, luck is involved, but it is for everyone. It cancels out. It's not worth mentioning. Not unless you can't give a deserved compliment without qualifying it - ie, spinning it.

Dude you really need to learn how to post on a message board.

And while I don't condone all of Manny's antics and behaivor, he's one of the best hitters in the history of the game. And nobody said the 5-hole was the problem you idiot, you need to look beyond things like that. Consider that Cano hits 3rd replacing Abreu, A-Rod 4th, and Manny 5th. Cano's getting great pitches to hit because he's got two of the best hitters in the world behind him, and the only person in the league capable of giving A-Rod optimum protection in the batting order is Manny Ramirez. With Manny 5th, batting behind A-Rod we have an incredible lineup, and nobody's getting pitched around. Clown!

Ahhh he does talk BB

IMO last winter we could have penciled cano into the 3rd or 5th spot for 09

but I think we have to put that on hold right now

I agree manny is a clown ,

do I think manny would help arod relax & get better pitches .........most likely

but arod has won 3 mvps without his protection

and I still say it would be arod batting 3rd manny 4th

Just so you know. It was not Theo that opened up the Japanese and Asian markets. It was the Dodgers. It all started with this guy.

Oh, so they opened up the market for the Red Sox, right?

That's the signing that led to the Okajima and Tazawa signings, and NOT the Matsuzaka signing?

when it comes to actually needing texeria

I think the yanks and sox are in the same boat

no one knows how posada, matsui, ortiz & lowell are going to rebound

but that sure does effect how much they need him

this will be a defining moment for HAL

will he go the extra mile ?

or will he be called coupon clipping hal

he let the mets get santana

will he let the sox get texeria ?

does anyone think his dad would ?

We don't NEED Teixeira for that kind of money at 8 years. We just got out from underneath several long-term committments that went sour for us towards the end, why does everybody suddenly want to do it all over again. I thought the point was to take a new approach when all of these long-term burdensome contracts expired. We just signed C.C. for 7 years and Burnett for 5 for a combined total of 6 billion dollars, we really don't need Teixeira. Would he help, sure. But we don't NEED him. This isn't gonna define s*** for Hal by any means, dumbass.

does anyone think his dad would ?

And look where that got us for so many years.

That's a legit point, but consider that Cano made adjustments in his swing last year and started to turn it around towards the end. He's done well in winter ball, and is working on mastering his new stance and learning to be more patient and selective. Kevin Long has done a great job since becoming the hitting coach, and he puts in so much work with Cano. I'm convinced last year was just an off-year for him. I certainly hope so at least. But I think the Yankees, as well as Robinson Cano are best served with Cano batting third with the best protection anybody could have in Alex Rodriguez (and hopefully Manny Ramirez).

but arod has won 3 mvps without his protection

Think about how much better he would be with Manny behind him.

and I still say it would be arod batting 3rd manny 4th

I say you're wrong. we have a much deeper lineup with A-Rod batting 4th and Manny batting 5th. With the exception of a few months in 2004 when he first got here A-Rod has always been the cleanup hitter here. There's reasons for that I suppose. I don't see them changing that now when the lineup is best served with him staying where he is.

Mr 25-6 who has only seen 4

It's 26 buddy. And yeah, I've seen four. You can't fault me for my date of birth, and just because I've only witnessed 4 doesn't mean I should disregard any of my team's previous history prior to my birth. What kind of fan would I be?

....oh right, I'd be a clown, like you.

In an off-season where he signs Sabathia and Burnett, I really do not think that would be an accurate nickname.

It's what a fan does. By your logic we shouldn't even be talking about sports since we aren't professional athletes.
