  6. When you pay him 10 mil this year, 10 mil in 2010 and the next 25 mil over three years if he stays. No interest, that's cheap. If your employer tried that. Would you want to work for him?
  7. It's not Manny or Boras. It's Frank being cheap. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-manny-ramirez-dodgers27-2009feb27,0,2453699.story
  8. Looks like frank and Ned have had their fill of Boras and Manny. If he signs anywhere it's going to be for less than the Dodgers offered.
  9. The rookie kid from last year Blake DeWitt seems to be the odd man out. He will be sent back to AAA.
  10. My wife is an RN in the Surgical ICU. I live with two blown discs in my lower back and have done a lot of research on them. The wife refuses to let me get surgery done on them. The laser surg won't work on me since there is nothing left of my discs. Back surgery is basically a crap shoot. It either works or you end up getting more surgeries. I'm not risking that. That's why I'm looking at getting the replacement discs. Her hospital just started doing that type of surgery and is having great success with it. My insurance don't cover it yet, so I try to do the best I can till it does. Most of you guys are young and never think of your back. Trust me when I say this. Pray that you never pop a disc. The pain is incredible at times and I have had days where I can't even walk. It takes all I have to play catch with my kid. I was a steelworker and in very good shape when I blew mine out. I can no longer do any type of physical work.
  11. They use a laser to clean up tissue around the disc so that it is not in contact with the nerves. http://www.ozodisk.com/images/herniated_disc.jpg
  12. Penny is a slob. He may have good stuff but he has no idea how to use it and overthrows the second he gets in trouble. He also did not report his injury last year till he was yanked from the rotation. He continued to play several months with a bad shoulder only because it was a contract year. That was his choice. Not sure how many big night clubs are in Boston, but it won't be long till he finds them.
  13. As someone that lives with 2 such discs. I can tell you, it's no fun. You have good days and bad. His best bet is to have it cleaned up. It's not that big of a surgery. They also have artificial discs now. From what I have read and discussed with my DR. This seems to be the way to go. The only drawback is. It's a relatively new procedure and most insurance companies don't cover it. I'm sure JD could swing the cost better than I can. It seems to have a pretty high success rate. http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article1671.html
  14. Somewhere Clemens laughing and thanking God.
  15. It's not the first time. The Bronx Zoo and Ball Four have both shed light inside the clubhouse. The Yanks snubbed him at their fair well ceremony. They took great pride in doing so. So you can't say they didn't have it coming.
  16. Just so you know. It was not Theo that opened up the Japanese and Asian markets. It was the Dodgers. It all started with this guy. http://assets.espn.go.com/i/magazine/new/040712_nomo.jpg Might want to read this also. http://www.rafu.com/en/2008/1208/sports.html

  18. Cary Strukel 727 - 278 - 1177 Who wants to see his house?
  19. I like the season ticket holder response from him. I could buy Rays tickets with the money sitting next to my cup holder.
  20. Red Sox need to destroy them and shut that transvestite bovine lover up.
  21. I think it's Boras testing the waters. LA can sign him, they have the money. The only drawback to getting the big payday in LA is his playing LF in 3 - 4 years. Having watched Bonds play LF at 41. I can say it was not a pretty sight. Hopefully Frank and Ned will just enjoy his services for 2 months and milk it for all it's worth. Then pass on bringing him back. Manny going back to the AL makes more sense. He will still be able to hit without being a liability in the OF. So he should get a bigger contract than if he stays in the NL. Hank knows if he signs him. It will only generate more revenue for the team in the end and allow them to open the New Stadium in a more circus type atmosphere with him laughing all the way to the bank. I'm sure Hank and his accountants would welcome the chance to have him in pinstripes. Now they just need the Yanks to outbid themselves.
  22. Banning Boras would be to the benefit of all baseball. He's scum and several of his dealings the last few years have all been shady.
  23. Hu had eye surgery and is hitting .385 since the surgery. Loney won the 1B spot over Nomar last year and was sent back down to vegas. He came back up in Aug. Was the NL player of the month in Sept. all the while waiting for Nomar to get it together. Loney was hittng over .350 when they recalled him. Laroche had 152 total MLB AB's over the last 2 years. He won the job in St and was injured. Dewitt played over his head and returned to the AA player he's supposed to be. Andy never got a shot, other than 3 games in Col. They went and signed Blake. Kershaw has been up and down. His last two starts have been good. He is still only 20 yo. Ethier won the LF job in ST. He has continued to out preform Pierre. Yet he sits. Meloan should have been left a RP. Broxton, Bill's and Martin have all been up for 3 years. Every one of Whites signings have out performed the old washed up players Ned keeps bringing in. Yet you had Tracy, Little and now Torre who all hate young players. Joe Torre is so over rated. He had an All Star team to send out every day in NY. How hard was that?. About the only thing I'm thankful for is that they have not traded them all away. As to being fair with Colletti. All I'll say is. Schmidt, Jones and Pierre. I swear he is still working for SF sometimes.
  24. I did not want Drew nor Lugo. No one did to be honest. Nor was I sorry to see them go. I don't care for any of Boras's players. Every player they have ever signed of his received a big pay day and then proceeded to earn it on the DL or totally suck. Jones being his latest. As far as Manny goes. It's been fun to see him in Blue yes. But I'm not holding my breathe that he'll be back at what he wants. He may have saved Ned's ass for the short term, but I'd rather have the kids for years, rather than 2 months on Manny. If they tank, both Ned and Manny will be gone, then hopefully Logan White will become the GM. He found all the kids and seems to be the only one with faith in them. With the way they have been treated. I don't expect them to stay when they are able to leave with Ned as GM. I'm glad to see Andy finally get his shot in Pitt. Hope he has a great career.
