  6. When you pay him 10 mil this year, 10 mil in 2010 and the next 25 mil over three years if he stays. No interest, that's cheap. If your employer tried that. Would you want to work for him?
  7. It's not Manny or Boras. It's Frank being cheap. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-manny-ramirez-dodgers27-2009feb27,0,2453699.story
  8. Looks like frank and Ned have had their fill of Boras and Manny. If he signs anywhere it's going to be for less than the Dodgers offered.
  9. The rookie kid from last year Blake DeWitt seems to be the odd man out. He will be sent back to AAA.
  10. My wife is an RN in the Surgical ICU. I live with two blown discs in my lower back and have done a lot of research on them. The wife refuses to let me get surgery done on them. The laser surg won't work on me since there is nothing left of my discs. Back surgery is basically a crap shoot. It either works or you end up getting more surgeries. I'm not risking that. That's why I'm looking at getting the replacement discs. Her hospital just started doing that type of surgery and is having great success with it. My insurance don't cover it yet, so I try to do the best I can till it does. Most of you guys are young and never think of your back. Trust me when I say this. Pray that you never pop a disc. The pain is incredible at times and I have had days where I can't even walk. It takes all I have to play catch with my kid. I was a steelworker and in very good shape when I blew mine out. I can no longer do any type of physical work.
  11. They use a laser to clean up tissue around the disc so that it is not in contact with the nerves. http://www.ozodisk.com/images/herniated_disc.jpg
  12. Penny is a slob. He may have good stuff but he has no idea how to use it and overthrows the second he gets in trouble. He also did not report his injury last year till he was yanked from the rotation. He continued to play several months with a bad shoulder only because it was a contract year. That was his choice. Not sure how many big night clubs are in Boston, but it won't be long till he finds them.
  13. As someone that lives with 2 such discs. I can tell you, it's no fun. You have good days and bad. His best bet is to have it cleaned up. It's not that big of a surgery. They also have artificial discs now. From what I have read and discussed with my DR. This seems to be the way to go. The only drawback is. It's a relatively new procedure and most insurance companies don't cover it. I'm sure JD could swing the cost better than I can. It seems to have a pretty high success rate. http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article1671.html
