He will.

See, I can say something none of us knows for certain like it's a fact too. This is fun.

I dont want to think about him leaving right now. He is the reason why we arent in last place right now.

Funny...you've changed your tune. I hope you all get a smack in the face after the s*** you've given him.

Am I actually...happy for... A-Rod?

He was an abysmal hitter in the clutch for 3 seasons. All I asked of him was to hit in the clutch. Now he is. Whats not to like?

Nah, it's just funny that everyone in New York was calling for his head or for a trade. You guys should have known that sooner or later he was going to be Alex Rodriguez in the clutch.

I was just hoping he'd break out of his troubles after he opted out.

We gave him 3 yrs. I mean seriously, last yr, was there anyone on the team you'd rather face in the clutch? My biggest problem with him was not that he didnt get it done. He gave away ABs in the clutch last season. He would chase bad pitches, get into a hole and flail with 2 strikes. Now, he is patient, waiting for his pitch and getting it.

Not to boost myself up or anything like that, but I have always supported A-Rod. You can look at posts I've made during the 2005 season, or even last year (his worst year with the Yankees), and I've never waivered. I completely agree with your point though, Yankee fans have to realize that's it not always that easy. The fact that they boo him with such hatred, and call up sports talk shows calling for his head says so many negative things about Yankee fans. It shouldn't be hard to have patience with one of the best players in the last few decades, but somehow people lack the least bit of it.

I know you have, I remember :)

It's annoying how one minute they're booing his ass off, and the next minute they want a curtain call. Hell, I remember both of those things happening in one game!

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. I'm a Yankee fan, so obviously I support other Yankee fans, but their treatment of A-Rod over the last few years has been an embarrasment. I'd say this is the ultimate flip-flop. The fact that he got so little support, especially last year, has made me root even more for him.

Has A-Rod been knocked on his ass yet this season? He looks like a guy who thinks he owns the plate, leaning out all comfortable.

Hey Josh Beckett!! You reading this? Knock A-Rod off the plate. 98 mph cheese at his hands please.

Beat me to it. I was just thinking about this.

The saddest thing is that here's a Yankees game, with A-Rod celebrating like the autistic high school basketball player who has never played before, and yankee stadium is 2/3 full?

I'm asking a serious question, not trying to be an *******, have the Yankees been selling out their games? I mean, this is a $195m team, in the biggest city in the country and I have seen numerous games recently that weren't sold out, they appeared to not even be close. What gives?

EDIT: I have no problems with autistic kids. But A-Rod looks like he's never hit a homer before. Get over yourself buddy, IT'S ABOUT TIME!

you throw at him and you have a corps of power armed relievers who'd love to put Papi in his sites.

Power armed relievers? If the relievers are in the game that's fine. A ball at A-Rod will knock him out of his god-like streak. A ball at Papi will not.

Let's get going with the bad blood. Let's see what happens when the Sox bring Papelbon in with a 4 run lead and plunk A-Rod on his wittle bittie pinkie fingur. :harhar:

I'm not worried about 'power armed relievers'.

Farns can throw a lot harder than Paps. And Farns has a pretty good body slam' date=' or so I have heard.[/quote']

A lot harder? Hmmm, just like our conversation about King Felix I would beg to differ. Of course, I wouldn't argue that Farnsworth doesn't throw 99 mph, but is that ALOT harder than 97 (which Paps hit a few times tonight on the Toronto gun)? Even if Papelbon "only" hit 96 and you question the Toronto gun, is 99 ALOT harder? I think you're over-exagerating a bit here man.

Farns can break triple digits regularly and sits 98-99. Paps sits 93-94. Either way' date=' knowing Farns, he'd try to hit him and give up a homer.[/quote']

I guess Papelbon sits at 93-94. That isn't factual with regard to what he has done this year, but if you're convinced that's fine. I've watched him consistently sitting between 94 and 96. Farnsworth sucks. :D

The score was 6-2 going into the 9th.

This was the most amazing comeback I have ever seen at the stadium. I took the day off to go with my father to the game, and the TV replays do not do that shot justice [most centerfield shots are that way]. He absolutely creamed that ball. That was as hard a homerun as you could ever see.

In the near thirty years I have been watching baseball, I have never seen a player hit this way for this long. It's just insane.

I've been to 4 games this season already, and there was a feeling in the stands that if Arod could get up, we would win the game. Talk about a turn around. Unreal.

You know what was nice as well? He came up with a runner in scoring position when the score was tied in the seventh, I believe it was, and he struck out. The amazing part? Not a single person booed him in the park [that I could hear, obviously]. I turned around and mentioned it to one of my friends from the stadium, and her response was "Isn't it great?". I had to agree.

It's 2:40 AM, and I just saw the replay. I never saw it land at the park. As soon as he hit it,the party began. Wow.

Note to AL managers: With first base open, and the winning run on second, walk Arod and pitch to Giambi. I still don't get why the Guardians manager didn't. I am sure as hell glad he didn't.

They did that first game of the year. Booed him when he misjudged a foul pop up, cheered him when he won the game later on.

Realize a few things.

Two outs. Down by four runs in the bottom of the ninth. The immortal Josh Phelps up. DAY GAME during the week.

The game was sold out at game time, however.

If you look real close, you will see me celebrating in the bleachers, lol.

That's what they have been trying to do. He has lost 10 pounds, gotten more flexible, and if you watch video of him, he isn't really using a leg kick like did last year. He's just really just lifting it up and putting it down, kind of like how Molitor used to [boy, I'm starting to date myself here]. That inside fastball that he couldn't hit for s*** last year he is destroying this year.

On another, kind of funny note, I was thinking about you guys after the game. I'm watching the scoreboard, all happy that you guys were losing in the ninth, and then you guys rally. I imagined a lot of you guys doing the same in reverse.

Sean Henn get's his first career win....and nobody notices.

I'll call your Farnsworth body slam and raise you a Wily Mo Pena.

Screw that. I wouldn't fight Giambi. The guy is an absolute monster. Couple that sheer strength and fuel it with roid rage and I suggest everyone runs. From both teams. He starts throwing his fists around, he's liable to kill the first thing he sees, regardless of uniform.

If we can get back Zimmer, we would kick your team's ass all over the park. ZIMMER ZIMMER ZIMMER!

AROD on a tear! Hes on my fantasy team so he can do ok against the Sox this weekend but everyone else has to suck ass!LOL

The bold is true once out of every 3 times he takes the hill. And I have watched Paps sporadically the past 2 yrs and every time he will throw 80% of his pitches in the 93-94 range. The other 20% are in the 95-96 range, especially when he needs the gasface. He sits 93-94 with the capability to throw 95-96.

How many times have you seen Wily Mo in person? I wouldn't fight David Ortiz, but if Wily Mo got pissed he could kick Ortiz's ass.

The Yankees drew 40,872 yesterday for a day game, against Cleveland, while most other stadiums were struggling to hit 20,000. The average attendance at Yankee Stadium thusfar this year is 47,010. It's a 57,000 + seating capacity stadium, I think you would tend to notice empty seats more in a stadium of this size as opposed to stadiums that only hold 38,000.
