Lets keep this thread clean.

I respect Derek Jeter the most out of all the yankees. IMo he is a class act and is a great player. I remember when wells signed with us, while some yankees were doing some bashing, he stayed out of it and just said something nice about wells.

Oh and for the yankee fans. say the favorite red sox player and why.

Mussina? Everything I've read about the guy suggests he's a major league self-centered prick. Not only that, but I've seen mentions of bigotry. He gets no respect from me.

He was the first one to throw ARod under the bus after he made errors in Moose's games, but I have not heard the bigotry rumors?

It was in a Gammons article about John Rocker. I can't find a link for the article, but I did find a quote in another article.

Here’s what Gammons wrote: "What Rocker said was unforgivable. But the fact is, every team has heard similar diatribes those from small towns across America have about New York City. One of the game’s best pitchers, a sophisticated, intellectual graduate of one of the world’s finest universities, has splattered teammates with similar comments and boasts that he will never play without a no-trade clause to the two New York teams."

Before anyone chimes in with accusations of Gammons bias, consider the quote where it's apparent that the player is not playing in NY at the time. This means if it was Mussina -- can anyone think of a top flight pitcher who is commonly refered to as "cerebral" and went to a top US University? -- he was still playing in Baltimore.

That's most definitely describing Mussina. I have to say that I am a bit surprised. Rocker is not sophisticated or highly educated. It's more shocking for this kind of thing to come from an intelligent highly educated person.

"Let's keep this clean."

Well there goes that.

Somebody said something dirty? This is an ironic level of sensitivity. It appears you have no problem tossing barbs about the faults of Sox players, but your panties get twisted when the fault of a Yankee is discussed. Surprising? Not even a little.

Something you never seem to realize: no yankee can be at fault outside of A rod and he doesn't count.
