I don't think you can just say if the Phillies lose tonight, they are done. Their offense has the potential to go off at any time, regardless of the pitching matchups.

I'm pretty sure Cashman knows he made a mistake not dealing for Santana, but there's no point in saying publically, that doesn't really send a good message to your young guys.
I don't really know (with a lefty coming to the plate and the winning run in scoring position) how leaving someone in who lefties have destroyed this year is the same as bringing in someone who's been effective against them, but ok.

Sorry though, you're right, it's not like lefties are OPSing 1.076 off Timlin this year (and .345 off Chris Smith in a limited sample size).
