the sox win was so much more exciting. The yankees won because somebody dropped a ball. The sox won because youk hit a 9th inning homer. That's what its all about.

Wow, thats the dumest thing I ever read. We both won, you got your win in the ninth, we got our win in the ninth, you had your lights out closer get the save, we got our bitch wannabe the win.

Thats what its all about? haha, I'll have to remember that.

Let me say this.....I admire what the Yankees are doing this season. Ive never been a Yankees hater, a Yankees hater does not understand what they have meant for baseball. The face of their franchise (Ruth) saved the game so many years ago and made it what it is today. Hell, the guy died almost 60 years ago, and his name is alive as ever.

That being said, if you told me that their starting lineup and pitching rotation last night, and for this season would only have them 1 game behind Boston and ahead of the Jays in the standing....I would have called you crazy. I have to admit, they are a scary team if we cant pick up ground on the group of rag tags they are putting on the field every night. I really think the baseball gods want it to be Sox Yankees every season, regardless of who marches out of each respective dugout.

That is actually why am I really happy right now. If the Yanks can win with half of their starting line-up sick with the flu, out with wrist problems and other misc. disorders I'd like to see what they can do when everything comes together a little bit more down the road. They should be pretty damn good, and it's nice to know the future bench players and back ups are perfectly capable of going out and winning a ballgame. And by the way awesome post, I'm glad you aren't just a blind Yankee hater. People need to realize what you have.

This was a great road trip, if you ask me. It ended on a sour note, but that's okay. We got absolute gems from Moose and Johnson in Detroit. Randy's outing yesterday was even pretty good, which is a great sign. He's building up confidence and looking more and more like Randy Johnson with every outing.

And every single guy in those pinstripes is stepping up and contributing. From A-Rod to Phillips, it seems like they all played a role in the victories in these two series. When one guy falls down, two more step up. These are the kind of things that build real teams, the kind of teams that win championships.

I mean if you asked me a few months ago where we'd be without Sheffield and Matsui, with Pavano nowhere near the mound, Mariano out for a period of time (however short it was,) Wang closing a game, and Melky an everyday player...I'd have probably cried.

And I can not wait until tomorrow. Moose vs. Beckett? Should be amazing.

Good post. Very well said.

Time to come home and take out the Beanheads.

Like I suggested, Small should have been traded after being resigned. I imagine his value was pretty high back then.

A 35 year old with 3 good months under his belt has high trade value? I think not.

Small never had any value to begin with. I would be shocked if teams thought that this journeyman actually had value. The yanks struck lightning in a bottle. they were lucky to have gotten the season from him that they did. he is nothing more than a journeyman pitcher who should be pitching in triple A rather than the big leagues. no team would have ever taken a chance on him and give the yanks any value from him knowing pretty much that his performance was a fluke.

I definitely think there's a team or two who would have made a trade for Small... a team like Kansas City who's fallen in love with failing veterans. We wouldn't have gotten much in return, obviously, but it would be more than what Small is giving us now.

The Royals would have given you the pine tar of George Brett's bat. Would that be sufficent?

On a serious note, the Yankees desperately need Octavio Dotel to come back. Any word on his return date?

Sometime this month, I believe. I haven't heard of any set backs.
