From what I heard his velocity is back and his slider is sharp according to the people that I have talked to and read.
He's still not that far removed from surgery. He will hit a lot of bumps in the road this year.

I feel ultra bad for Wang. He deserved a better fate. Terrible
He pitched great, but f*** him and how he feels. He's a yankee piece of trash. Happy Father's Day to me.

He's one of the few Yankees I don't hate.

Him, Bernie, Mo. That's pretty much it. :dunno:

edit - Matsui too.

disappointing loss today. At least we can be proud of this one, unlike yesterday's nightmare. However, a win would have been something to be much more proud of. I feel somewhat hypocritical saying this, because I was really hoping and pulling for Wang to throw a complete game, but I wish Joe would use Ron Villone a little bit more. He's been good when he's been able to pitch this year. However, he doesnt get many opportunities.

Whatever, up to Philly we go. If we go up there and fail to win at least 2 of 3, this road trip will have been a complete failure.

Does he even know how to say it?

I would imagine. He speaks pretty good english. In fact, he resides in Tampa. So being a resident of the United States, i'm sure he's picked up some English profanity.

The Phillies are in total disarray. The Yankees should win at least two out of three. Though, the Moose could have a difficult start in that band box.

On happy note Phil Hughes did it again: 7.0IP 6H 2R 2ER 2BB 11SO

Matter of time. They shouldn't move this guy for ANYONE. Unless that guy happens to be Felix Hernandez.

Agreed 19 years old going on 20 in AA. I dont know many pitching prospects better then him. I just love how hes doing great and logging those innings that he needs.

I can't be too upset about today's loss. Wang pitched a great game (third in a row) and would have received the "W" if the bullpen hadn't been burned out by Torre/Chacon yesterday.

One thing that gets me: A-Rod came through in the clutch....and we still lost...

If this series has taught us one thing it's that, come July, it would not be a smart move for the Yankees to waste time on finding an OF (we can survive with Melky, Bernie, etc.); any move that's made should be centered around pitching, period. Whether it's a competent arm for the bullpen or someone who can pitch more than 5 innings in a start (novel ideas, I know), we need that kind of deal to happen to have a dream of doing something in October.

Like I said earlier today to a good friend, I would rather see this guy pitching for us in 2006 than deal him for someone like Dontrelle this season. I know it's a season or two away, but I can not wait until we see Hughes take the mound in the big leagues.

i would LMAO if the Yankees traded Hughes. The guy is going to be a stud.

Will he be on the team at the start of next year or do you think hes more like 2 years away?

I imagine if he continues to dominate the minors (and has a good Spring Training in 2007) we could see him some time next year.

I think I read somewhere that the Yankees wanted to give him a full year at AAA.

That would be the smart thing to do as there is not need to rush him to the bigs. He has a bright future and the worst thing the yanks could do is push him before he is ready much like they did with eric duncan.

They really hurt Eric Duncan. I said it at the time it was stupid to put him in AAA when he struggled in AA. Now hes back in AA and he has played pretty well.

Never said that I hated him. I just don't feel sorry for him cause he is Yankee trash. No reason to feel sorry for him. It's not like he got a bad break or a bad call or someone else blew the game for him. He gave up a walk-off Homer and lost the game. He couldn't close it out. What's to feel sorry about?

Hmm well I guess pitching an almost complete game and pitching brilliantly the entire time and only being out there that long because your three late inning guys aren't available and Villone has the black plague leaves nothing to feel sorry about. Come on man, do you have any emotions or is your heart one big rock. I think I'll start calling you the Grinch from now on.

And what is this Yankee trash business? Wang = trash? Bernie = trash? Come on buddy get a freakin clue.

You probably could understand why he doesn't feel any empathy for Wang. Wang is a Yankee and he lost. Good.

If it were Schilling, you'd probably feel the same way. Even though Schilling doesn't strike me as an empathetic person.

Wang lost the game. No one lost it for him. His pitch count was not high. There was no reason not to leave him out there. He's a professional that lost due to his own failures. Why should anyone feel bad for him?

As far as "trash", anything in pinstripes is trash to me. What don't you get about that?

There is emotion in baseball. I felt bad for Wakefield after the Boone thing, and I felt even worse because he was such a stand-up guy. I'm gonna ignore the post trying to relate Wang to Schilling because last time I checked Schilling isn't someone to feel bad for. He runs his mouth in the media and has two rings on his finger. Wang is classy. He takes the mound every 5th day and does the best he can. He's a newbie who has been nothing but great for the ballclub and just wants to get the taste of victory. I don't understand your lack of empathy. And you need to stop being so ignorant. I'm on the other side of this rivalry, but I don't call everything Red Sox trash. Schilling is trash. Varitek is trash. But Wakefield, he's not trash. Neither is Papelbon or Ortiz. But hey, I guess you have a right to your own opinions, however close-minded they may be.

Curt Schilling doesn't do that either, right? If he was a Yankee you'd love him because he's a gamer. Running his mouth to the media I'll give you, I wish he wouldn't do that as often, but having someone who's opinionated and outspoken is not a bad thing. At least it's not the same boring, lifeless, no personality interview over and over again.

He's a newbie who has been nothing but great for the ballclub and just wants to get the taste of victory.

Again, Schilling has been much of the same. He was the Cy Young in '04, IMO, helped deliver a title, and even closed last year when the team needed him to fit some role.

Why is Varitek trash? Because he stood up for his pitcher? Varitek has a tremendous work ethic and doesn't mouth off to the media. He refuses to sign pictures of that ARod incident. I imagine he feels remorse towards it. To call him trash is BS.

To call him trash is BS.

So if it's not cool to call 1 player trash, what's your opinion on calling everything Yankees, or any organization for that matter, trash? Just illustrating my point. Don't let your blind hatred for a team make you seem like a 7 year old sore loser who has his panties in a twist. (not directed at you kilo)

i dunno pinstripe

maybe because most of us would rather be in traction with ruptured testicles than see the yankees win ??

just a thought

hey..arod got a couple hits this weekend that mattered for a change

washingtons been on fire, the yanks have been decimated with injury and theyre still in the hunt for october
