This can turn into a presidential assasination cooking show pretty soon if we aren't too careful. I'll refrain from continuing.

morinin', Sean.

'tis a beautiful day in CT today...

the birds are chirping...the sun is shining...Sox youngsters are throwing nicely and are supposedly up for more than a cup of coffee...

or are any of them auditioning for other teams? Would the Sox consider moving one of these guys near the deadline if it brought back value?

i was discussing just that in the rumors thread sir.

i would entertain offers on any and all members of the rookie club with the exception of our closer to get us the 1 live arm that would propel us over chicago and into the w/series

lets face facts for a moment

reality is that the yanks have too many injuries to their bats and not enough arms to make up for it,i consider them to be less than capable to win this thing even if matsui and sheff come back healthy....too much dead weight in their staff my man

what may wake them is a deal in july for a hoss like smoltz

a guy who will pitch everyday if you let him...

he is a guy who could make our summer a bit brighter and would compliment schill beckett and wakefield down the stretch...in my life ive watched ny get every single stud available

while we trade for the jeff suppan&joe sambitos of the planet the yanx go out and get david cone and the like...f*** this im sick of it

imagine smoltz as our #2or 3??

Posted

then we live with it

it took 86 years to win the last 1

you ready to wait that long again??

if we didnt have a chance this year i'd say no but seeing as though the yanks have their heads on the chopping block, the nl is full of pretenders and the american league power rests in chicago....

i think we can beat them if we get another gun

ask yourself

its october 20th game 7 of the pennant

who do you want to see

jon lester or jon smoltz....or craig hansen or jon smoltz

nobody should be untouchable

ask nomar,he'd agree

that's exactly the sort of deal I'm wondering about. I've said this same thing about the Yankees in the past, i.e. are they bringing up the youngster because HE'S ready or are they bringing him up to showcase him because THEY ARE READY to move him for proven big league talent.

Virtually no one is untouchable and any deal that helps the club near-term without spelling doom long-term will be considered.

Jaret Wright looks ridiculous with that wad of chewing tobacco in his mouth.
That's not a wad of tobacco. It is really what Yeszir posted last night.

6th inning and the Yanks have gone to the pen. By August there will be so many limp noodle arms in the pen that it will look like a bowl of linguini.

Haha! I posted a penis! (By accident I swear!)

Another good win. Wright went his normal 5 and the pen stepped in and got the job done (4 IP, 0 H.) Melky, in the middle of quite a slump, picked up his second RBI in as many days and made another great catch in the OF. Johnny reached base every time he came to the plate. Cairo got a few hits and scored a few runs. Nice way to end what, a few days ago, looked like a disastrous road trip. Now let's hope the team can cool down the Marlins and keep the Braves freezing back in the Bronx.

I was glad that Torre is so paranoid that he used Mo again with a 5-0 lead in the 9th. Good move.

we were discussing this last nite

why did he yank wright after 5 shutout innings?

because the leftys were coming up?

gee maybe they can tell the other team not to bring their lefty bats when wright pitches

i dont get this

they payed this kid 20M for 3 years and they wont let him work past the 5th....ever

so in essence they had their best pitched game in quite a while yet their pen still got taxed to death...

ronnie villone is showing up for the yanks large by the way

Wright has not shown the ability to pitch more than 5 innings. He always comes in in the 6th and has a total meltdown. He showed signs of tiring in the 5th (all his pitches were elevated) and with that and that part of the order coming up, it just made sense to go to a lefty.

i agree 100% which furthers my argument that jarret wright shouldnt be a starter

that yanks pen has been abused badly by torre and with wright and chacon both unable to go deep into games its going to kill whats left of that bullpen.

and hopefully torre continues on this path of BP decimation.

Can we call it a slump for a guy who hasn't established career norms? I don't think he's slumping. He's reverting to the mean. His numbers right now are close the the MLE you would expect from his minor league performance. They should be hoping he gets hot again, and then try and sell high, because I think he'll more than likely disappoint in the long run.

Looks like the Rivernator is gone..so sad.. Lookslike he couldn't take Melky's plummet from .290 to .244. LOL. No worries..one less Yankee ballwasher. Hopefully he can get in over at NYYfans.com...they love Ballwashers.. In fact..If you tell them Jon Lester is better than Shawn Chacon..they ban you..lol.

hes an abrasive prick but i kind of liked him

he certainly could be entertaining.

he was always a treat to read after a yankee loss

last year i remember the royals beat randy johnson and he was calling for torre and mel to be fired and rj optioned down to columbus....i thought he would kill himself

I looked through some recent posts and the over/under banned thread but didn't really see anything as to why he was :banned: Can anyone give any insight? I certainly didn't agree with him, but he was entertaining at times!
