On a brighter note tonight Phil Hughes was pitching for Trenton tonight. This was his line so far:

7IP 1H 3BB 0ER 8K

His best start in AA so far.

Good to hear. I remember how much he was struggling down there when he first got promoted. Good to hear this. Hopefully I get a chance to make the trip down there and see him make a start.

Thats my goal this summer

It's this channel that has all this random local stuff on it (like high school games, local concerts, etc.).

haha wow. I wish I got that channel. Do all markets have a "local access channel", or just where you live? Is there a name for this channel, any call letters or anything?

I need to find a friend who had the Local Access Channel and have them record games for me

I HAVE to see this stuff lol :D

Yep, the kid is only 19 going on 20 years old. He needed time to adjust and his last 2 starts have been outstanding. I'm also hoping to get a chance to see him down in Trenton.

Wang has thrown 85 through 7. Looks like we might be able to avoid that frightening thing called the Yankee bullpen tonight (when I say frightening, I mean it's scary to Yankee fans...not opposing hitters.)

In his last start Hughes line was:

6IP 5H 1R 1ER 1BB 4K

You look at the line and say its a good start but not really outstanding. What made it great IMO was he threw mostly fastballs and he had a GB-FB ratio of 13-1.

We're gonna need Wang to be big for us all year with the inconsistancy of both the pitching staff and the offense. He looked great tonight.

Hat trick for K-Rod

Lets look on the bright side.

..At least he didnt get hit with a Golden Sombrero

..however, if the Guardians (god forbid) tie it up and we go to extras, and A-Rod gets another at bat I would COUNT ON 4th K.

I just got back from the game. My first time in the bleachers and I get a ball and a wave out of Ron Guidry. Very nice, made my day before the game began. Awesome game, but what did the announcers say about Farnsworth coming in? Doesn't the guy need a break?

great effort from wang last nite

just what the doctor ordered from a yanks perspective

he is a good pitcher, not great but he'll keep you in the game and if you let him get on a roll like the tribe did hes capable of doing exactly what he did.

and robby cano has played better than any other yankee infielder bar none

hes the teams mvp as of today

yeah right. Cano cannot hold A-rods jock..please. What does Cano have..3 Hr's? Wow, color me impressed.

Long ball isn't the only part of baseball.

Canos Got a better BA then everyone on the Yankees except Jeter, More Hits then everyone except Jeter, Highest BA vs LHP on the team, is batting like .400 in day games, and has clearly been our best fielder thus far.

do you know a 2nd basemen with more hits in the last 365 days?

do you know a yankee with bigger hits than cano??

please fill us in...

this kid was a diamond in the rough who's done far more than any yankee fan dreamed of.

if that dont impress you then you need to find another game to watch.

let me remind you in case you didnt know

i hate the yankees almost as much as cancer but i tend to call spades spades.

robbie cano is the starting allstar 2bmen for the al

and has helped the yankees win more games than any other position player on the field this year.

thats strictly my opinion but i wonder how you could possibly argue with that unless you want to mention giambi

who absolutley sucks on the field and has been hobbled quite a bit...

Mussina: Limited options

Yankees right-hander Mike Mussina, 37, says he doesn't expect the team to exercise his $17 million option to remain with the team, he understands that he would need to sign an extension at a lower salary. If no agreement is reached and Mussina becomes a free agent, he will not simply sell himself to the highest bidder. He will want to play for a contender, remain in the American League and stay relatively close to his home in Montoursville, Pa.

His first two choices after the Yankees would be the Red Sox and Guardians; his NL possibilities would be the Mets and Phillies. A return to the Orioles — a non-contender for the foreseeable future is virtually out of the question.

How valuable has Mussina been to the Yankees?

Remove his statistics, and the Yankees rotation ERA is 5.21 — worse than the Devil Rays.

Just something I found interesting. Its close to 100% likely that Moose will remain a Yankee. Though thats what I thought about Petitte & Clemens. :dunno:
