  1. im gonna need to get back to you on whether i want to dig in my heels on this one or concede.
  2. you guys are talking right past each other. Hes saying a financial cliff, you are talking about a talent/results cliff We certainly were up against a financial cliff (had to move money) , we were not up against a talent cliff (we could have shed money and still been good) There were other ways to save money than by giving away betts for verdublow and eating half of prices contract to facilitate. We were just lazy and trading betts was easy and I was on another forum at the time with joebrady and tedyazmookiefldg%isonlythingthatmatters and pumpsie. And they were all gobbling up misinformation. Like Betts didnt want to be here or we had to move betts. We needed to move money (that was the cliff) , we could have still been good (keep betts, move others) and anyone who thinks that betts didnt want to be here or was gonna be gone anyway or we couldnt find a way to shed money in other areas is incorrect. Trading betts was a choice, the wrong one, and thats what ruined the team. Getting Verdublow back didnt help. Cuz he was just lousy enough where it wasnt obvious how lousy he was , so he held the job down (again lazy GM) when really we woulda been better off if Verdugo got injured in spring training and never returned, because at least then we would be forced to get somebody else. Like a 100% healthy Casas. Still dont want him.
  3. are you familiar with the song 1999 by Charli xcx and troye sivan
  4. now , you! you cannot be in a cliff. Do we not know what a cliff is? It is not a cave. It is not a den. It is the side of a mountain or hill with a steep decline. Even if you are inside of a mountain that has a cliff on the side of it, you are not in a cliff. The only way to be in a cliff is if you got swallowed by the big red dog or something. But I think hes nice.
  5. you cant dwell in a cliff, it isnt a cave can you meet me at "I was a cliffhanger, mvp and others were not...."
  6. Crochet is my favorite player on the team. If we are gong to buy and sell or half-in / half-out or be content with mediocrity, we should set my favorite player free. And we should all pick second favorite teams. Im picking Arizona for secondary allegiance. Hope we dont trade Marte.
  7. Sure. Im not saying we're def screwed at this exact point in time. I'm saying that I disagree that we shouldnt be passive about building a competetive team due to having crochet for 5 more years because we dont know he'll stay healthy and every year we waste from him (if its anything like last year) is awful. And I get that its debatable whether we wasted last year, but all of my friends who are not red sox fans (so neutral) say yes. My friend (and he played 2b for Umass) said, if you were trying....if you were half serious .... you would have at least gotten josh naylor
  8. Why do you think that? I think they try to get St louis to eat some money on contreras and if they cant , they get like an ohearn or hoskins. Maybe someone more who can "compete" for the job vs someone who comes at a price point that reflects its THEIR job
  9. it is drafty in here
  10. I dont want to waste 2 of crochets 5 though. Hes unlikely to stay healthy every year for 5. Crochet blasted open the window and every year in which we arent aggressively trying to capitalize on our awesome ace is a waste. Id rather trade Crochet than half-ass any of his years. Cuz he deserves better.
  11. Its not going to be casas. It might be someone cheapish/short-term candidate/someone else internally who they can push aside if casas re-emerges. So they may go light on a plan A because they want to give casas a shot to win it back, but no way is casas plan A Even if they sign nobody it still wont be casas as plan A It will be Romy full time before its casas/romy

  17. YOu guys are rehashing debates from years ago, Notin has changed his pic back to what it was in 2007(ish) Im loving it guys. Im fully on board with this pretending its not 2025/2026 ANybody going to get some kenny rogers chicken, tonight?
  18. Yes, we all know the key to financial freedom is skipping the coffee on the way to work 🙄 Propoganda santa brings you a list of reasons why its your fault that you are working your life away. No thanks.
  19. Any going to charitable causes?
  20. Bello, Harrison, and Soto ?
  21. Now Im tempted to start dreaming about packages that get us Corbin Carroll and K. Marte again, but I wont because I want to spare people from never going to happen fantasy trades that involve fleecing Arizona for a player who is 0.0005% likely to be available (Carroll).
  22. Harrison, Dobbins, and a random name off sox prospects whom I didnt know was even a person until yesterday isnt enough? You breaking my heart.
  23. TY for giving your fan(s) what they want and bringing back the pic you had on boston.com in 2007. The passage of time sucks. Thank you for allowing me to pretend its 2007. I can now pretend both grandmothers are still with us, my dad has many good years left, my beloved basset hound is still alive, and I have hair on my head. Also, Im excited for this season. This rookie we got coming up, Dustin Pedroia, looks like he's going to really contribute this year!
