I thought after the first inning his stuff was pretty good. His stuff will never be winklenan good, but it is not bad either! Without command and control, he was serving up meatballs in the first inning.

In the third inning yesterday, the announcers said he was throwing a lot of sliders (which looked like clurves to me) maybe that was intentional and part of his injury recovery???? The sliders generated loud contact

Valdez 5 for 5, but he also threw the ball away twice! Early struggled to find his command in the first inning, then he figured it out and looked really good after that. Penrod was cruising and then ran out of gas in the third I think.

I think for 2025, we have to give rafeala a permanent home in center field. An outfield of Duran - rafeala - abreau and refsynder should be decent offensively and defensively

At the end of the year, we have 8 free agents Jansen (catcher) - replace by gasper or teel O’Neil (outfielder) - replace by Anthony???? Pivetta (starter) - replace by gioletta Paxton (starter) - replace by prieter????? Jansen (closer) - replace by Hendricks Martin (set up) - replace by slaten Sims (reliever) - replace by fulmer or free agent Garcia (reliever ) - replace by luetge????

I finally got to see Sandlin pitch and I was impressed with the raw stuff, but concerned about the command. Fitts can be throwing 93-94 in one outing but only 90-91 in the next outing. Not sure why, but don’t those guys develop sore forearms after a few months of yo-yo velocity????

We need to trade for some cost controlled relievers from triple A or double A. Either stud relievers or starters that we can convert to stud relievers. We need to build up our depth because we have none now

I think cambell’s value peaks this off season. Can we package him and a few other prospects for a young Miami starter that has struggled this year???

Wong’s July numbers are really bad and his defense is worse! Jansen has to be an ever so slight improvement just because he hits fly balls and blocks really well

In my opinion, a lack of depth, numerous injuries and starters unable to get through 6 innings is driving this. This is an excellent reason we need to be sellers at the deadline. August and September are going to be uglier than a Steinbrenner family reunion! Houck and Crawford are approaching innings max! Big maple is small pine at best!!! But we unload Jansen, o’Neil, and pivetta and that should be 5 decent relievers that are somewhat close to ready and can add depth for 2025!
