  1. Fitts was very successful tonight
  2. One of the Boston baseball writers published that the budget was 200 million.
  3. I agree 100 percent. He has skills to be adequate at multiple positions
  4. One of the writers I trust said the budget was 200 million. I have no idea if he is right, but it makes sense
  5. I watched him and laviolette a lot at Texas a&m in 2024. Montgomery has a cannon. In Fenway, first to third on a ball hit to right field becomes dangerous, like when we had Renfro
  6. I would not play Campbell at short unless forced to! Second base or outfield or dh is perfect for him. Assuming we trade Cassas, he would be perfect between devers and story/mayer
  7. I think a lot of money comes off the books and we can splurge on one free agent pitcher and some relievers and still get under the 200 million budget!!
  8. Agreed! I hope we sign fried, and trade for quality young starter. then sign two quality relievers. A lefty and a righty. (I realize that relievers reliability is inconsistent year to year.)
  9. Coming into this season, I did not expect much from Romero, but he played really well once he got on the field. I hope he stays healthy and continues the solid hitting and solid defense
  10. Congrats to Roman! Amazing talent! I hope Mayer takes his place when we bring Roman and Campbell to Boston in April 2025!
  11. Maybe you are right. The five years of control is valuable! And he hits right handed pitching ok.
  12. Seems like winning seems to follow Anthony where ever he plays in 2024! hope anthony starts in right field in 2025 snd stays there, at least until Montgomery claims it!!!!!!
  13. he makes a lot of sense as a secondary piece in a major trade. as a stand alone trade piece, maybe we get an average middle innings bullpen arm
  14. I absolutely love this plan!!! I am a huge miller fan! This is the kind of bold move that would get us to the playoffs in 2025! I think yoshida with that swing has a fantastic season at the plate in Seattle
  15. 1.) minimal payment may not get it done, but a west coast team is perfect for yoshida! 2.) should be plenty of glove first veteran catchers available on a one year deal. 3.) fried would be an excellent free agent addition, if the medicals check out. 4.) I think we have to sign two relievers, a lefty and a righty. 5.) we have the assets to trade for miller in Seattle. It will be painful but cassas, plus plus plus should make for a blockbuster trade!
  16. I think next season, Montgomery flies through our minor league system. I am a little concerned about the strike out rate, but the power, defense and arm are legit!! after the big 4, to have Montgomery, arias, cespedes and Garcia! That is an amazing second wave!
  17. Is I Campbell the biggest miss of bres-slow’s first off season
  18. I think you nailed the top 7 on your list! I think if cespedes had stayed healthy, he is also a top 100 prospect. I would put this list up against anybody’s top 7 prospects!
  19. Campbell has definitely hit the rookie wall this past week. He is getting out in front of stuff and losing balance because of the funky swing! Needs to stay back on the ball and not open up so early! I would take Campbell over Mayer, but I would take Anthony over anybody including the prospects that graduated this year regardless of team.
  20. Romero looks to have a great first step and gets to balls that most of our SS’s cannot get to. But the throw from deep in the hole, he seems to either make it very nicely or bounce it and I do not know if that is by choice
  21. Campbell is the right handed bat we need in the lineup. He starts 2025 in Boston at 2B and stays there! This kid has a funky swing, but he can flat out hit!
  22. Someone said that 6 out of Romero’s 13 hits at Greenville are taters !!!!! Wow!!!!
  23. We have to figure a way to move yoshida! That DH is so valuable, and yoshida is a dumpster fire defensively in the outfield. 2025 catcher - Wong and gaspar (teel is not ready yet, but will be very close.) 2025 1st base - cassas 2025 2nd base - Campbell (the kid can flat out hit) 2025 SS - story (sadly story makes Chris frail look durable. And Mayer is not ready yet, or much more durable. ) 2025 3rd base - devers (painful to watch defensively, but DH is an option if meidroth can hit) 2025 infield bench- meidroth and Hamilton. (willing to dump Hamilton if someone out performs him. Call to action for sogard, Romy or Valdez.) 2025 outfield - Duran, rafeala, abreau and Anthony (again DH is open for at bats)
  24. And if we were talking about prospects I would agree. but you realize both these guys are successful major leaguers????
