    Improving our defense should be a consideration for 2025 roster building. we got some serious dumpster fires on the roster as it stands now.

    Of the 21, all but scott, Hendricks, Holmes, slaten and Whitlock are fringe type pitchers that teams try to upgrade

    The pirates have a lot of outstanding young arms. I have seen Ashcraft pitch and he has some decent stuff

    Abreau, Cespedes or Romero and yoshida for Arenado and Helsley plus cash is a sweet deal for both teams!

    There used to be an unwritten rule that when a pitcher exceeds his total innings pitched by X% in year one, there was regression in year 2! we could have regression from some starters

    I only saw crochet pitch twice this year. But the pure stuff is undeniable! Better than any starter we put in the mound in 2024!! The command and control looked really good. bres-slow has to make the call on durability!!! in today’s game, you have to give to get

    I agree! I did only see him pitch once. The stuff was decent and with improved command and control, he could be someone to pay attention to! that is the problem with going to see live baseball. You work out your schedule to get to the stadium on a certain date, but you never know who is going to be pitching or even worse, you get a bullpen game!!!!

    I think we need a number 1 and a number 2 for the rotation and two quality relievers. One lefty and one righty

    And how has signing top notch free agent pitchers worked out for us in the previous three years??? Bottom line, if you believe crochet is a number 2 starter, you will have to give to get.

    Core to me are players with multiple years of team control. our rotation core is Houk Bello, Crawford, criswell, Fitts and preister! The one thing that core says is no top end pitcher! It is missing a number 1 and a number 2 starter!!!!

    I think slaten was an excellent addition in 2024! Let’s hope we get a left handed version of him this offseason.
