  1. i think in general both are good. it is obviously the strategy now to try and lock up our younger players on team friendly deals.
  2. that is exactly why he won't sell and we will be a .500 team for years to come
  3. forgive me for having reservations on the long term success of Criswell.. To me he is just another in the long list of BBB SP pick-ups this team has taken fliers on and almost all of them have failed. You can't even count Whitlock as a success at this point.
  4. we will see how long the Criswell bump lasts.
  5. some people will be happy when John Henry shows he cares again
  6. Looking like Whitlock will be shut down again with elbow soreness . Hope it’s not a 2nd TJ upcoming
  7. Why would Henry even consider selling? Idiot fans like us are still coming out in droves and his profit margin is greater than ever with the reduced payroll which stands to get even lower when Anthony, Tell, and Mayer make it to Boston.
  8. why enough on Sale vs Grissom? People on here still talk about Mookie on a regular basis. the reason Sale vs Grissom talk is- is because it is relevant to THIS season. Almost everyone on here was giddy on the trade calling it a clear win for the Sox. I would say today that the only one happy is John Henry and his pocket book. It's very early but right now Grissom looks like Jeter Downs 2.0
  9. you and me both. I am not disappointed when the Sox lose. When John Henry starts caring again so will I.
  10. NOT A CHANCE IN HE$$ John Henry bucks up 19 million for O'Neill
  11. People on here should know by now that I am far from an O'Neill fan but my issue is deeper than that. I am sick to death of all these 1 year rental players we have been watching rotate through year after year and I am sick to death of John Henry.
  12. really hurts jersey sales $$ for John Henry though
  13. meanwhile Chris Sale is 6-1 with a 2.54 era and .088 whip. But of course John Henry looks at that trade as a win given how much $$$ he is saving.
  14. well almost 1/3 of the way through the season Mr Henry. You must be happy with another .500 club
  15. can't really deny that. do not like the guy. he won't be here next year thankfully. Henry [breslow} will find another 1 year replacement.
  16. I see the juicer had a good game last night. He is at .256 now--falling fast
  17. you are right of course. Yorke and Jordan are the same level of prospects as Kopech and Moncada were at the time of the Sale trade. Let's just stick with our current philosophy of drafting the best SS available in the draft since it has worked out so well these past several years.
  18. Mayer went into that draft as the #1 ranked prospect so NO !!
  19. people need to stop defending this pick. It has proven to be a terrible pick no matter how one may spin it
  20. he was chosen about 100 picks above where he was ranked by every team except the Red Sox. what would we expect?
  21. that is what i have been saying for years now
  22. Yorke AND jordan in the same trade won't get you a decent P. Maybe a reliever.
  23. the list i see today has 4 pitchers ranked in the top 12 where the Sox pick. #11 and 12 are both pitchers. There is a 5th pitcher who is listed as a 1B/P. the mock draft i saw has the Sox picking--what else-a shortstop
  24. that is very true as well
  25. Sox are right at .500 now--pretty much exactly where most of us felt they would be.
