  1. sure glad that the Sox fleeced the Braves on the Sale-Grissom trade
  2. get ready for another failure
  3. i only saw 1 or 2 who predicted 70 wins. most were right around .500. That has been the problem in my view for the last several years. Never really bad enough for a total revamp but never good enough to truly contend. John Henry has walked this tightrope for the last 3 years thinking RSN will buy it. I DO NOT !!
  4. I think most people on here felt that the Sox would finish around .500 for the year give or take a few wins or losses either way and that looks to be right where they are headed.
  5. Teel and Anthony aren't exactly lighting it up in Portland. Mayer is doing better
  6. those roids are doing wonders for him but we will see how long he stays on the field
  7. I said all along to not sign Montgomery
  8. Anyone notice how Chris Sale has done so far this year?
  9. he is another meh player but he will be an upgrade over Dalbec.
  10. Red Sox just picked up Garret Cooper from Chicago to take over for Casas.
  11. The Sox have just added significant pitching depth with a Sal Romano from the Gastonia Honey Hunters { whoever the heck they are} but hey the guy had a 4.91 with them. I think they got this team confused with the Gashouse Gorillas who Bugs Bunny took on in "Baseball Bugs" An all-time low even for the Red Sox.
  12. i am of the view that Henry MIGHT use/approve the difference in salary saved to approve a trade using the money saved. Was I wrong?
  13. Red Sox were somewhere between #2-#5 in payroll just 2 years ago and are now #11. Where might they be in another 2 years?
  14. the ONLY reason he bucked up for Devers was because of the backlash he endured by cheaping out on Mookie
  15. WHEN will you figure it out that John Henry is NOT INTERESTED in spending $$ ?
  16. Why?? Dalbec is hitting a robust .031
  17. yeah because he has to face the music. better to let others take the blame
  18. listen I am saying it is much easier TODAY and the last several years with a balanced schedule. Proof in the pudding is that the Sox have finished last in the division 3 of the last 4 years
  19. of course you would disagree. Despite what you say the Sox are now getting the benefit of more "easy" games against such powerhouses as Pittsburgh
  20. No-one has replied to my point about the fact that MLB has balanced schedules today. I maintain that 84 wins in 2019 is equal to about 88-90 today
  21. Teams who hire DD know what his mantra is. John Henry at one time did too. If you want to go cheap don’t hire DD but if you want to win…. I really hope DD writes a tell all book one day. I will be the first to buy it
  22. I agree with your thoughts but it ain’t gonna happen as evidenced by 3 last place finishes in the past 4 years
  23. Like I said no GM is perfect but I can guarantee the Sox would be better off today if DD was still in charge than they currently are
  24. My guess is that John Henry informed DD of the upcoming payroll slashing and DD balked and as a result was gassed.
