  1. oh yeah i am sure the Mariners would be all over that trade
  2. and Hendriks has brought a lot of value hasn't he?
  3. OK let me be a bit clearer for you. I don't think Abreu could bring ON HIS OWN amore than a back end SP. Perhaps he could be packaged with one of our top 4 prospects for a QUALITY young cost controlled SP. Abreu IMO is a nice player but OF are FAR easier to acquire than quality SP.
  4. right now we will be lucky to hold off TB for 3rd place. Your 4-3 record on this trip is not looking good right now.
  5. i forgot that we don't get comp picks for guys we don't qualify which makes this even worse. Surely a team like Seattle could have used O'Neill to boost their struggling offence. I agree that if it is 20 million to qualify any of these guys it is an easy pass and we get nothing. Brutal management AGAIN.
  6. i admit to not know much about these guys.. However I don't think the Sox need any more # as our staff is already full of bottom end guys. Tanner Houck could be #3 but we need a true #1 and #2 if we are ever truly ever going to compete
  7. quote of the day but i'd say it has been since the day he fired DD
  8. none of those guys excite me. sox best re-sign Pivetta cause i dont see us getting anyone better with Henry's wallet as closed as it is
  9. not a chance he gets us a good #3 SP on his own. give me an example of a #3 sp you think Abreu would bring back in a trade
  10. face it--remaining "competitive" does seem to be all Henry is concerned with as long as he stays well under the cap and RSN doesn't revolt too badly
  11. they only did that after dumping a portion of Sale's $$
  12. i hope DD writes a tell all book one day. I will be the first to buy it
  13. Henry wants to be as much under the cap as possible as long the team remains "competitive". have you not figured that out yet?
  14. sounds like a familiar idea with the Sox doesn't it?
  15. Once again the Sox took a feeble run at a W/C spot and missed out on dealing our impending FA's for prospects. Same old same old.
  16. i think you are overrating Abreu. I like him too but he's no star
  17. i hope Red Sox fans are enjoying this W/C race chase. Once again it looks like we will be coming up short and now stand to lose our impending FA's for uninspiring draft pick compensation. I guess this is what Breslow meant when he said he would be taking a clear direction at the deadline. Enjoy the comp draft picks everyone.
  18. come on Moon. all the other MLB teams know we are about to have a glut in the OF and Abreu probably doesn't fit. that will not help his trade value
  19. that is my thought too
  20. none of this will matter unless the team makes some SERIOUS improvement with the pitching.
  21. only Casas has any real value of those 3. Abreu might bring back a reliever
  22. how did you find out ?
  23. Castillo is the only SP the M'S may want to part with but he has significant miles on his wing. I would stay away and go for a younger SP
  24. seattle doesn't even return the phone call on this trade
