  1. Breslow has done exactly what Bloom did--bring in a bunch of low risk P and acquired a few lowerish ranked P prospects --in another words really nothing
  2. That is because it costs MONEY to get quality P and Henry REFUSES to spend it. We have no REAL pitching prospects that will solve the absence of a #1 or 2 SP and those are the undisputed facts.
  3. Does anyone know if Mr Tightwads John Henry even attends the home games? if he does I would suspect he would have a soundproof booth. I am pretty sure there would be no shortage of fans letting them know what they think of him these days.
  4. in another one of your posts that I can't locate right now you mention ed Michael Wacha who BTW is 9-6 right now with a 3.50 era. I never did understand why we didn't resign him. He would have fit in under this budget
  5. this game showcasing the 2 big BP arms Breslow acquired at the deadline
  6. it is ok everyone. our BP will pick us up
  7. Breaking and SHOCKING news--James Paxton leaves his start today with an injury in the 1st inning.
  8. don't confuse us with facts Bellhorn
  9. i didn't say we gave up top prospects but where i live we are in blue jay country and they feel they got 2 decent prospects from us in the Jansen trade which will turn into a rental only and if the Jays so desire they can easily resign Jansen as a FA because with Teal coming the Sox will not be in on Jansen in any way
  10. we also gave away a few pretty decent prospects for rentals
  11. nonetheless over the year to date we have gotten pretty much the results we could have expected given the pitching staff we have. If we miss the postseason it will be another year of not adding to our prospects by dealing expiring contracts. Did Breslow not say we would be one way or the other at the deadline?? Doesn't seem to me that we were all in.
  12. yeah Henry is salivating because he will probably only cost about $500,000 for less than half a year
  13. If he comes cheap Henry MAY approve the expenditure
  14. we will be looking again at the Sox grabbing guys on 1-2 year deals on low risk-high reward deals. that has been the modus-operandi since DD was fired
  15. every SP save for Houck [who is a #3 IMO} are 4-5 types. what we need is a true #1 and 2 SP
  16. have enough of those already sewer
  17. i dont see any of the those guys becoming more than #4-5 SP
  18. to get back on the topic of this thread-- Chris Sale stats 13-3 .271 era 155 K's in 123 ip .0951 whip. and the Sox are paying a good chunk of his $$$ great trade Red Sox
  19. not a chance. Janzen as a FA will be looking to cash in and will be more expensive in 2025 than Wong. it is ALL about the $$$ with JH
  20. why is everyone on here so keen to trade 1 or more of our top 3 prospects? They should all be in Boston by this time next year and will all offer significant years of cost control which will please John Henry to no end. We could always add to our P through FA but of course we know Henry is against that philosophy. As long as the team sits around 82-88 wins he knows that RSN will be satisfied.
  21. i think it was a good trade no matter how it works out cause Yorke was never going to cut it in Boston and we need young pitching
