    There is ZERO chance Story would have been signed if the Sox didn't know Henry would not buck up for XB. NO CHANCE IN HE$$

    Trevor Story has played 145 games in 3 years since the signing with a BA around .225. Great signing !!

    never once did I say we should pay XB what he got from SD but I also believe he would have signed in Boston for a lot less than he got too. No matter what argument people give me Story was another terrible signing.

    at least he is on the field which is more than you say for Story. Say what you want about XB but I take him everyday over Story

    I believe they KNEW they were not going to sign Bogaerts so they brought in Story who has been an unmitigated disaster.

    I truly believe the only reason Henry approved the Devers extension was because of the uproar from RSN over the Mookie trade. I also believe that the Story signing was as a result of letting Bogaerts go. We got hosed in the Mookie trade and I don't believe we even got a comp pick for letting Bogaerts walk. 2 HORRIBLE moves that have set this team back greatly.

    next year's closer is rehabbing right now and should be here for Sept. One of your SP will be back from TJ next year and another is rehabbing. So that is the 2 spots in the rotation and the closer.The set up guy will likely come from with-in the current group of relievers Don't be surprised if they bring back Hill after his kid's 2025 baseball season ends so he can provide more depth.

    most of those guys are garbage. we used to trade for guys like Pedro, Schilling, and Beckett

    QUALITY P costs more than JH is willing to cough/barf up

    other than Devers he hasn't spent a ton there either. a little on Yoshida and a waste on Story after cheaping out on XB.

    no idea what the payroll will be but I do know we have gone from a top 3 payroll to around a #10 payroll. Somehow coincidentally we have several last place finishes the past 3-4 years and no playoff berths

    maybe I should rephrase that to say ' We sign P who may have been good at one time years ago or are just coming off injuries" We use short term deals so we can move on quickly to the next one. BTW when does Gramps Hill make his debut ?
