  1. wow the first real FA signing-- Josh Naylor about to sign a 5 yr deal to stay in seattle
  2. the facts remain that the Sox have gone from a top 3-4 in payroll to now something in the 10-15 range.
  3. that has been JH's philosophy for several years now to go with the cheaper option.
  4. the "major" signing you mention likely won't even be Bregman IMO. I think he will get a great offer by the Tigers and I'd be willing to bet Schwarber re-ups in Philly. With Casas due back next year I dont see JH approving an Alonso signing. We may in fact simply resign Lowe on a much more reasonable amount on a 1 yr deal.
  5. i can easily see Campbell in the lineup next season over JH approving the $$ needed for a Schwarber or Alonso FA signing. The Devers $$ is burning a hole oil JH's pockets.
  6. Campbell started off like gangbusters. Can he bounce back is the question.
  7. maybe 0ne but not both. Myself I would prefer to keep Early over Tolle
  8. schwarber is not leaving Philly-bank on it
  9. i never said that. just implying that he needs to replaced before we dump him. i was against the signing from day 1
  10. If his price drops significantly the Sox may be back in. They like signing rehabbing pitchers on short term deals.
  11. yet the Sox have tended to go the rehabbing SP route more often the past few years.
  12. Why-he was one of the few who actually hit in the postseason.
  13. the rotation I was trashing as you call it was how it was TODAY and then YOU brought in the Jays. Obvious miscommunication.
  14. nothing substantial is going to happen for at least a month so all this talk is nothing but fodder
  15. except for JH's pocketbook. Ain't happening with likely EITHER of Alonso or Schwarber.
  16. Mayer providing he can stay healthy needs to play everyday.
  17. i think you forgot Yeasavage and Bieber.
  18. a heck of a lot better than the one i commented on that we currently have
  19. you wait--Criswell will turn out to be nothing more than a fill-in/bottom of the rotation guy
  20. We don't have anyone else as a #3 at this point which is what i'm saying. We have lots of candidates for 4-5 slots but HAVE to add AT LEAST 1 HIGH QUALITY non rehabbing SP.
  21. All I am saying is that Sandoval is far from pencilling in as a #3 next year . He has yet to even pitch for the team. Not to mention he is 19-45 with an era just north of 4. I know a W/L record for a SP is not a tell all but are we really excited about our #3 SP having such a record?? I know I'm not.
