  1. Coming from you i know this is a no-win trick question but I would say it would be someone who can fill most of all or all of the following 1} pitch at least 160 innings with a sub 4.00 era 2} be effective against teams in the AL East 3} be cost controlled for at least 2-3 years 4} preferably but not a must that he be RH
  2. definitely better than Crawford but not sure he will match Gio from last year. I am glad we got Gray but I don't see him as more than a #4 at this stage of his career but he will have some games where he looks like a #2 but will it be in the AL East games is the big question.
  3. like another poster pointed out though--Gray failed badly in NY and they rocked Gray in his start vs them last year. He is not a #2 in my opinion.
  4. I liked what I saw from Early but Tolle better spend the offseason developing a quality off speed pitch or he is nothing more than a reliever.
  5. thanks for posting the list of BBB SP they Sox whiffed on although I kinda wished they had kept Wacha. I agree that Gray is a better bet although his flop in NY has me a bit concerned if he can survive in the AL East.
  6. i actually get that but dont like it. i think Bregman was worth 22-25 million tops. much rather pay 75 for 4 than 40 for 1
  7. maybe for a TRUE #2 but one a lot younger than 36 with some term control---NOT ANOTHER 1 YEAR RENTAL !!
  8. they better not trade Bello
  9. I think they are planning on giving Casas the first shot at 1B next year and i totally agree with that.
  10. that last line has been stated for the past several years without fruition.
  11. There is more than that. Myself I'd prefer to have players stay awhile to better identify them. Sick to death of the constant changes and JUST STOP with signing rehabbing pitchers.
  12. Sox have too busy focusing on 1 yr deals on rehabbing SP. Hasn't worked out that well. Would rather the Sox have added a much younger quality SP they could extend for a few years like they did with Crochet. Even if Gray has a good year he is likely gone soon after.
  13. I like Sonny Gray a lot but only wish we had gotten him 3-4 years ago. At this stage of his career I don't think he is a #2 SP anymore. I don't see him him as anything but a Gioloto replacement and of course another 1 year commitment. As a true Sox fan I am growing very weary of these 1 yr rentals and constant revolving door especially considering very few have actually worked out.
  14. I like Sonny Gray and only wish we could have gotten him 3-4 years ago.
  15. they can afford him. Rogers has tons of $$ after ripping off Canadian consumers for years.
  16. that would be the only way. Schwarber likely using the Sox to drive up the price for DD.
  17. Sox will be looking to add guys willing to accept 1-2 year deals just like Gray and so many other before him have done. Hey we hardly even knew you.
  18. people need to stop with the Schwarber dream. No way DD lets the Sox outbid him for Schwarber
  19. Gray is much more than dumpster diving
  20. i liked Gray a few years back but at this stage of his career I think the Sox will be disappointed if they think he is a #2 SP.
  21. actually i read your post to be against signing either given the length of contract they would likely get. Did I Interpret it wrong?
  22. I disagree that Bregman was worth 40 million this year.
  23. who care less if she is gay or not??
