    Crochet is the only one you have a case on. Bregman took us for 40 million and bolted the first minute he could. MAYBE gave 15-20 million value. Chapman was great for sure but that was as much good fortune as any. Given his previous few seasons no-one was predicting 2025 numbers for him.

    it's not apples and oranges. First off Marte is 32 on the downslope of his prime years. Second he is owed a lot of money and I believe has 4 yrs left on that deal. You gotta think JH is telling Breslow to make sure AZ eats a lot of that $$. Finally given that Mayer was actually ranked #1 in his draft class I feel that if he can just stay healthy he can turn out as good as Marte and finally he is COST CONTROLLED for several years and you know JH knows that. The last word on this is that I don't see Marte being enough to put us over the top right now in any event. But if we can get him for giving up an OF and aSP not named Bello, Early, Tolle or Crochet then yeah let's do it. But Mayer stays.

    no because he is going to be a stud and will be much cheaper than a 32 yr old Marte. This will allow JH to spend more $ on his other holdings.

    First off we all know Devers trade was simply a salary dump that they tried to sell us Harrison as the jewel coming back. I watched Hicks throw for the Jays so knew he stunk. as for Sandoval I'm not saying any of the guys you mention should be ahead but simply that he has to EARN a rotation spot and can't just be handed it. Currently I see the Sox with a #1 SP and a 3 and 4 with Bello and Gray in whatever order and bunch of candidates for #5.

    Don't worry Moon since the Sox will not consider a deal ANY LONGER THAN 3 YEARS AT MOST which l;ikel;y takes us out of the running for any of Bichette, Bregman, or Alonso. Think Polonco on a 1 yr deal or maybe Suarez if no-one else offers him 3 years or more. Haven't we seen this movie before. Interested in everyone but get no-one.

    The ONLY way we sign Alonso is if he takes a 1 yr deal with a yr 2 club option.

    and the dominos are starting fall. Missed out on Schwarber and couldn't even keep Matz. traded Grissom for a M/L OF who in effect was the trade for Sale. But hey it's not about cutting payroll isn't it?

    sorry about the multiple posts. not sure it went through so i guess i sent it more than once my bad.. those guys are likely minor upgrades but none of them excite me that much. i am sick to death of all these 1 year deals. Myself i'd rather just see us go with our own home grown guys than bring in more 1 yr rentals.

    what you and I want doesn't matter. The Sox will fill their needs with guys they can get on reasonable ONE YEAR deals.
