Duran Is The Man

That Red Sox team opening 2022 was coming off an '21 offseason when Kike hit more homers than the '26 Flops.
I don't know any Brewers fans, but if I did I'd ask them what kind of hitter Durbin was in '25. 
Because I suspect he's being ordered to uppercut and try to pull everything, which as we've seen has only produced easy grounders or pop-ups that aren't even out of the infield when he pulls his head.
Remember, Breslow told us after the trade that Durbin was going to be a fly ball pull hitter at Fenway and hit more home runs this year. 
On baseball-ref, they have a section called Hit Trajectory that breaks down each guy's batting average on hits per by Line Drive, Ground Ball, Fly Ball or Bunt. The highest for most batters is Line Drives, of course; last year Durbin hit .607 on liners (too many Atom Balls). 
Aaron Judge's career batting average on fly balls is .401 because 40% of his flies can't be caught.
Wanna know what Caleb Durbin hit on fly balls in his rookie year? He batted .137: 18-for-131. But Brez says he's going to be a fly ball hitter, and he'll fire all the coaches who disagree!

5 last place teams in like the last 7 years and 0 or 1 playoff series win, and people are here to complain......about fans complaining.

Now that Story is out, it's time to move the better defender to SS. Sorry Monasterio, but that's not you.

the Sox are 9-10 under Tracy. the Phillies are 15-4 since Don Mattingly took over.
the PHils managerial change seemed to have made a difference. the Sox under Tracy? not so much.

When I eventually leave FL, I'll miss the sandhill cranes (have been around up to 6M years). 

I totally expect our high-priced DH to get as hot as the high-priced DH in Philadelphia. Then we'll see how fast the Red Sox rise under their new manager.
Don't laugh just because Schwarber has 20 home runs and Yoshida has ZERO. At least he has 20 hits this year.

Salary relief? Nobody’s going to take him with the way his contract is structured. He’s makes $6M this year, $8.5M in 2027, $16M in 2028 and $19M in 2029.  There’s also a $21M club option in 2030 with a $1M buyout.  
 
The Sox would have to pay 90% of that money for someone to take him.  There’s no salary relief.

This Sox offense should get everyone in the FO fired, including the owner.

For whatever reason Bello just can’t pitch in the 1st inning. They fixed that by putting him in the second and was actually working fine. They changed what was working to what was not working. They love to do things that doesn’t work like putting Story everyday at SS, and yet people still wonder why this team sucks. In my book everyone should be fired. They are beyond inept.

Why Mayer isn’t playing SS? Can someone explain me like a 10 yo, please?

Sogard started the first two games in the Wild Card series and hit .333 in the playoffs.
How could you mock a guy whose name is chanted three times in every game before the bottom of the 8th inning by the entire Fenway Park crowd.

When you see so many guys struggling, including the kids, you really have to wonder if they are getting a lot of bad advice.

By making and oft repeating that Tracy and his coaches are INTERIM Breslow immediately neuters any power or changes  Chad may think necessary.
One more poor decision by the master of disaster

Capra is 29 years old with a career .369 OPS in MLB.  Unless the goal is to make everyone else feel better about their numbers,  no way they promote Capra.
But Ward!! I mean why is his .474 OBP still in AAA?  Why did Breslow trade for this guy if he’s not going to use him instead of other players whose offensive talents right now are such that they couldn’t hit the ground if the jumped off a cliff?

Dombro didn't look for a young yes-man who'd be thankful for the opportunity and do whatever he's told. Instead, he went right after ex-big league managers with experience handling veteran players.
But here's the real contrast we all notice: Schwarber and Harper 30 home runs, Boston Red Sox 32.

It all comes back to Henry's Hubris in 2019, firing Dombrowski and ordering Betts to be traded.  Turning the Red Sox into an experiment with newbie CBOs and a helter-skelter approach.  Throwing stuff at the wall.

When is it Braiden Ward Time?

I personally never thought the Red Sox were just "a" bat short. Not to go deep in October. They lost two stars in the batting order from a year ago, not to mention several other specialists who contributed. People forget Romy was their lone .300 hitter or that only half a dozen teammates had more plate appearances.
Even if you counted on Anthony to replace Devers -- I didn't -- they were two different hitters: a classic masher who opponents feared (especially in New York), and a more discerning batter who was an On Base machine...
Losing Bregman, though, compounds the gaping Raffy hole in the lineup. I'm talking specifically about talent (not this season's stats), because even if Durbin repeats his rookie year, he's a downgrade.
The Duran and Story wipeouts suck, but no diehard Sox fan is really shocked. It's more of a surprise that Abreu looks like a legitimate All-Star.
Contreras replaced last year's Opening Day first baseman and clean-up man -- Casas -- and Will is what we always hoped Tris could be at the plate, and ten times better at 1B.
But Boston never filled -- and is still missing -- two quality bats smackdab in the heart of the order.
