  1. I understand about the AAV, but to me a 10 yr contract is bad, and a 12, or 14 is even worse.
  2. And especially for $19M.
  3. All these questions have been answered, and answered more than once.
  4. You are giving Sale to much credit to last until mid-May.
  5. The rotation you mentioned may have some potential, but also more than likely an injury waiting to happen.
  6. I got your point, but why do you think signing Correa for more money would appease the fans over signing Bogey, which was my point? I don’t believe it would.
  7. I believe 12/year contracts are bad for anybody. I’m surprised you don’t want to give Raffy 14 yrs like you wanted to Mookie.
  8. I named a closer last year with either Jansen, or Bard. Diaz is gone now, and the Red Sox have already weakened the BP for this year at the moment by putting Whitlock back in the rotation, and they haven’t committed to Houck anywhere either. Who said anything about adding a closer, and keeping Bogey, and Raffy as being it. Once again NOBODY. I was commenting on one of your 100’s of scenarios about adding Correa over Bogey, and bring back pretty much the same cast of characters, so you were the one, and not me. I think most people know about all the holes that have to be filled.
  9. Example, and mostly it’s from 1 poster. I’ve been very clear about Bogey, Raffy, and a closer for the past year now, but thanks for asking.
  10. I don’t think signing Correa over Bogey for more money would make the anxious fans happy enough to wait for 2024. 2023 is the only thing that matter right now to some. Signing Correa, and bringing Raffy, and trotting out basically the same team I can’t see being any better off. If you are not sure what placates anxious fans by now you will never know. I’ll take a big shot at the dark on this, and I’ll say a winning competitive team that plays in the postseason Unlike this last year that was a losing last place in the Div team.
  11. Well said, but who would you sign going forward?
  12. This sort of things have, and probably will happen more frequently. Times have changed big time.
  13. I wasn’t counting the Covid years, but yes I should have specified, but I think everyone knew about the Covid years. I’m glad you think you know what Henry is thinking.
  14. To me the only reason you would keep him for that extra year would be the hope of the team being good in 2023. Outside of that he should have been traded last year when you could have gotten more for a 2/year rental instead of 1.
  15. I think you are wrong on this, and I think the signing of Story was the result of Henry hearing all the unrest of the fans of only doing for the most part bargain basement shopping.
  16. I agree with the product on the field part, but remember JH has BIG rabbit ears, and he hears all the feed back.
  17. Looking better to the public may be what JH is thinking. Attendance was lower this past year than any other year since JH took over, and losing Bogey, and Raffy I believe would make it go down even more. Paying customers should, and do have more pull than you think, or want them to have.
  18. No I’m just talking on how things would look at the moment when Bogey leaves, and possibly Raffy too. Casas, and Bello have lots of promise, but not much else at this point. Bogey will be replaced as will others, but I’m not going to have any high hopes to think things will be any better after Humpty Dumpty gets put back together again.
  19. From all reports both negotiations as they are with Bogey , and Raffy are far apart. Reports aren’t always very accurate, but the fact remains that Bogey is a FA, and Raffy has one year to go, and neither are resigned. Not surprising to me at all. Like I’ve said actions speak louder than words, and in my view if the Red Sox really wanted Bogey signed it would have been done by now. Their words say one thing, and their actions say another. Season ticket holders may have to be sold on Casas, and his eye at the plate, and farm rankings. That will be a hard sell for many.k
  20. That’s the problem your not, and you don’t go overboard on stuff like that. At least MOST people wouldn’t.
  21. Very true that is.
  22. You showed your true colors when you made fun of E Rod. Not a good color, or a good look. You were also called out by others. Wow!
  23. The Ref Man has signed for $1.2M.
  24. Seems like Downs is getting way to much ink for the 40th man, but to each it’s own.
  25. Your favorite response when you can’t defend your words. Most times it’s actions speak louder than words, but in your case it’s the other way around. Your words tell the WHOLE story.
