  1. Being cheap on homegrown future HOF stars is stupid. Spending $100M+ on a unproven Major League player is also stupid. It’s easy to do if you want to see it.
  2. The media, and the spoiled, crybaby fans are the ones who have gotten this thing right. The Red Sox FO better known as dumb, and dumber are the ones who have gotten things wrong, and Bloom has been perfect for the part.
  3. I believe Peter Abraham yes I do, and it’s a fact when the offers started, and when the contract was agreed to, which was at warp speed especially when dealing with Boris.
  4. And The Mupprt Kennedy was still at it yesterday at the Jansen intro. He needs to be yanked off the stage.
  5. I agree, and I think Franchy Strangeglove, and Duran The Butterfly Man were auditioning.
  6. Stupid? Let me tell you what’s stupid. Trading a guy coming off a 96 RBI season with two arb years left for someone who the Red Sox never would have resigned in in the first place for the contract he signed for, but took him on a year later at a higher price, and was so good he couldn’t hit his weight, and they had to release him. That was stupid. Watching Franchy Strange Glove try to play 1B, and Duran, Duran The Butterfly Man try to play CF as long as the Red Sox did that at times looked like the Bananas Baseball Team, and didn’t do anything about it until it was to late was stupid. Then we come to not putting any SERIOUS effort into resigning two homegrown future HOF stars who have proven they can play in Boston at a high rate, and then spin, and grin about it, and take the fans as fools to believe it is not just stupid, but ignorant.
  7. Would rather the Sox been aggressive on the pitcher instead of the OF if they were going to take a dip in the Japanese waters.
  8. According to Peter Abraham Yoshida was signed a couple hours after he was posted, which has Never happened before with a Japanese player, and that the Red Sox were way above all the other teams, and that’s why Boris jumped so quick at the offer, because he knew he wasn’t going to get a better one. The Red Sox over payed for someone unproven, and we’re going to underpay for Bogey for all that he had Accomplished for the Red Sox.
  9. At least he’s better than Arroyo who they put out there last year.
  10. That would explain it all wouldn’t it. Maybe they picked the wrong guy.
  11. I get all this, but what purpose does it serve to come out with that ridiculous lowball offer that I believe happened 100%, and that narrative will continue to play no matter if other believes it, or not. What do the Red Sox gain by doing that?
  12. The one homegrown they decided to keep.
  13. Agree with most except I think Bloom not reading the market correctly had more to do with Bogey leaving. I believe JH gets his info from Bloom, but it wouldn’t surprise me either that Henry didn’t want to pay even $150M to retain Bogey.
  14. I think this is the more likely scenario, and just Bloom being in way over his head. Like I’ve said many times before that doesn’t really qualify as a offer as ridiculous as it was, and certainly didn’t warrant any counter offer. Dumb, and dumber, which led to a bummer.
  15. If this was done with analytics how did that work out?
  16. Actions speak louder than words, and that ridiculous offer last offseason spoke loud, and clear. Their words were hollow.
  17. I would worry more about the lies that Kennedy, and Bloom are spewing that what the media, or Boris is throwing out.
  18. I keep saying JH is not the same JH as he used to be. Where’s the JH that dropped into the Felger, and Mass show doing a live interview. Now all he does is send his mouthpiece Sam Kennedy out there to do the talking, and his Dummy (Bloom) to let his homegrown stars do the walking.
  19. The fact Boris signed him so quick sounds like he thinks it’s the best deal he’ll get. Sounds like overpaying to me for a $100M unknown.
  20. Did the Red Sox drop down a notch? What a feel good story.
  21. Just a losing team that at times last year looked like the Bananas trying to play D, which was bad enough for me.
  22. And don’t forget Bloom has one arm tied behind his back, because of the budget, and the other arm tied behind his back, because that bad DD wiped out the farm.
  23. Like I have said many times this forum is just a small sample size of Red Sox fans, and I’ll just take a wild guess that more fans are more outraged than satisfied with the Bloom era.
  24. Incompetent? Some don’t think aBloom is that at all, and if the Red Sox just played in another Div they wouldn’t have finished as far as far as 21 games out of ist place.
  25. I care about the budget about has much as JH does about the fan who has to pay the highest priced tickets in MLB, and out of the kindness of his heart he increased the tickets even more next year.
