  1. There were all kinds of speculation on here that the Red Sox had all kinds of money was coming off the books, and all of that money would be spent. I asked the question who on the Red Sox had said they would be spending up to the dreaded tax line. Trades were supposedly to been made, which didn’t happen, but I never bought the high priced SS thing, because I had speculated all along if healthy Story was going to be the SS after Bogey left, and all points that to that being the case. Of course the arm changed all that. Wishing, and hoping didn’t make Bloom do, which lots had hoped for.
  2. I’ll agree there are many interesting storylines to follow this upcoming season, but outside of Casas, and or Bello breaking out I can’t see any of them being that exciting.
  3. I see both sides on JH, and I’m fine with both sides. For the moment.
  4. #1. Henry has a lot more things in the fire than he did in 2004, or 2007. #2. The game has changed, by leaps, and bounds in the last 10 years.
  5. Do you really think Henry has the same drive today as he did when he first came to Boston when he wanted to take down the evil empire, and win championships? I also think the game has changed a lot more from 2018 to today then it did from 2013 to 2018 especially financially. To some fans Henry has a lifetime pass for the 4 championships the Red Sox has won under his ownership, and that is fine, but to others like I said earlier Henry has worn out his welcome, and they think it’s time for a new Era under a new owner, and that is fine too. Getting Boo’d when he shows his face in public I’m thinking is an embarrassment to his ego.
  6. I think to some Red Sox fans Henry has worn out his welcome. He doesn’t seem to have the same passion as he did when he first came to Boston, and there is always the what have you done for me lately crowd. 2018 seems like a long, long time ago.
  7. Probably more suspects than actual prospects. Quantity mostly, and not much else.
  8. Well like you said the amount of things that have to break right for them to make a playoff run is quite great, and I think health in the starting rotation is the most important, but even if that happens no one knows what Sale, Paxton, and Kluber have left in the tank. It will be interesting to see, but I’m not that excited about it.
  9. The Red Sox thought they had things covered last year too.How did that work out?
  10. That’s been turned over.
  11. I just have a way different view, and the way I look at things. Some want to see the Red Sox have an easier schedule, so the Red Sox have a better chance at winning more games, and would probably also would like to see them change Div, so they wouldn’t be in last place like last year. All, because of last year. I on the other hand would just rather see the Red Sox get better, and win more games that way. It wouldn’t bother me if the Dodgers, and Astros were added to the Red Sox Div. I’m not looking for an easy way out, but only for the team get better, and win more that way. The Red Sox beat the Yankees head to head in 2021, and also had a good div record. 2022 was just a blip on the radar screen to me, and i wouldn’t have changed a thing with the schedule.
  12. It’s not that hard really.
  13. Wha, wha, wha on the schedule. Like I keep saying if you want to win more games the best solution to me is one thing. GET BETTER. I don’t recall all this tough schedule, and being in a tough Div talk in previous years, but for some reason it has been now. Get over it! The Red Sox sucked last year! If the only way the Red Sox can win more games is to go to an easier schedule then maybe the Red Sox have the Wrong people running the organization, and changes need to be made. That I would agree with.
  14. I hope the ranking committee takes it into account when the rankings come out.
  15. Exactly, and some of those 12 less games the Red Sox will be playing the Yankees, and Toronto this year will be made up of good NL teams.
  16. It’s just funny how you’ve mentioned strength of schedule, and playing in a tough Div so many times, but I didn’t hear the same two mentioned after the 2021 season when the Red Sox played in the same Div with a similar schedule that’s all. The Red Sox had the record they did in 2022, because they sucked, and the reasons have been mentioned time, and time again. Injuries, lack of production from key players, and Bloom’s moves, and non moves. If you want to blame the strength of schedule fine, but I don’t. The Red Sox beat the Yankees head to head in 2021, and every year is different. The Red Sox will be playing ALL the good teams in the NL this year, so I don’t know if the schedule will be any easier this year, because of that. We’ll see. I’ve already said I expect the Red Sox to be better this year, but how good remains to be seen. I can’t believe the injury bug will bite them as hard as last year.
  17. Oh that tough schedule again! We won’t know if we got worse, or better at any position until the games are played, and being deeper does not necessarily translate to being better.
  18. Substitute Lester for Price, and 2018 I believe would still have been won.
  19. Then why did Cora say the hope was for Story to come back healthy, and play SS? Story Was going to be the SS this year if he hadn’t of come up injured.
  20. Any word on the contract?
  21. I was just going by what Cora said that the hope was for Story to come back healthy, and play SS.
  22. Did he need TJ?
  23. No! Story was, and is a SS. Yes he was a 2B, and a good one especially playing in short RF, but the only reason he was playing there was Bogey was the SS. Lots of ifs in your questions, but I’ve said all along Story if healthy enough, which is another if will be the SS, which I believe that is what he was signed for. Kike is just a short gap .
  24. As I had been saying right along before Story came up lame that after Bogey left Story was in the plans to be the SS in 2023, and not staying at 2B, which so many had hoped for.
