  1. What results? Duvall hasn’t produced any in a Red Sox uniform yet, and if he comes anywhere near 96 RBI that Renfroe did I’ll be happy, but like I said Duvall has only played 100 games once in the last 4 years.
  2. I agree JBJ was the best CF on D last year. They both sucked with the bat also.
  3. Tapia is not rated as a good defensive OF, and neither is Yoshida, or Dugo playing RF, and add that to Duvall out of position in CF. Doesn’t should like a good defensive OF to me, which was a reason for bringing back JBJ last year.
  4. Yes Kike was good in 2021, but that was two years ago, and he sucked last year even before he got hurt. He didn’t pass the eye test last year.
  5. What’s on the bench that would be saying much? Not much. I’m not biased against Duvall at all, but he’s just a stop gap, and if he turns out a Renfroe type year that will be great. He’s only played 100 games once in the last 4 years, and he’s pretty much a homer, or nothing else guy who K’s a lot. 101 in 287 AB last year, so I’m just not counting on him to be a big addition, but like I said if he does great.
  6. I’ll agree that JBJ has slowed down.
  7. An upgrade of what they have on the bench? I’ll agree with that, but that’s not saying much. Definitely better than Duran, and the likes they had out there last year.
  8. If Story was healthy, and at SS, and Kike was back in CF i don’t believe Duvall would even be on the team.
  9. Kike is not out there now, and when he is Kike is a good CF, but he’s not in my opinion JBJ elite.
  10. Neither is anyone else in the Red Sox OF exactly JBJ with the glove.
  11. I know about his contract, and I know why he was brought in , but I still say he makes the big club over Wong injury, or not. I don’t think not being on the 40 man gives Wong a massive leg up either, but we will see.
  12. Duvall struck out 101 times in 287 AB last year. If Duvall doesn’t hit a bunch of HR he’s not going to give you much else anyway.
  13. I think Alfaro would have beaten Wong out for a spot in Boston injury, or not.
  14. Good summary, and pitching has changed through the years from 4 man rotations to 5, and there are a lot more throwing 90+ today than even when Pedro was pitching, and 120 pitchers were nothing back then either, which puts lots of strain on the arm, and yes pitchers get hurt babied, or not.
  15. Come on I would not be that bad. I would ask Sale if he was ready first.
  16. I believe the bases were loaded, and Muser ended up with a 2R double. Twi nighter Palmer, and Tiant who pitched in different games.
  17. And that’s why I would have had him pitching in the first game to see where he was at. Just an opinion though. Didn’t Cora baby the pitchers in ST of 2019? How did that work out? I get your point on Sale, but I just would go another way.
  18. That was my point. This guy fractured a rib throwing before the season, and fell off a bike. He’s just become injury prone, and I don’t think a day, a week, or a month is going to make him any less so.
  19. I was in the stands in 75 when Dick Pole got drilled by that Tony Muser liner, and I can still hear the thud when the ball struck.
  20. You left out sports talk radio, and SoxTalk, so sounds like an incomplete list.
  21. And to think you thought giving Sale a few xtra days off would make him less brittle. The one thing I noticed, and liked right off when I joined this forum was how all opinions were welcomed. Seems like the Sale opinion has struck lots of nerves.
  22. Wow! Making a joke about this? Still can’t let the Sale thing go, which was only an opinion, which you and others didn’t like. I can live with that, because like I said it’s only an opinion.
  23. The report is that Turner is home from the hospital with no fractures, but 16 stitches, and lots of swelling. That’s good news for something that looked real bad when it happened.
  24. Who are the six starters? Bello, and Whit who were to be haven’t pitched, and Kluber has gone twice.
  25. Who says he was not ready?
