  1. I meant RHH OF, so no Story doesn’t count, and Ref Man was like a lot of the pitchers that came up only out of necessity.
  2. I agree, and especially after JH dared to show his face in public, and got booed.
  3. They had to wait until ST to tell them that?I guess that 160 didn’t tell them anything the year before.
  4. Bloom screwed up by trading Renfroe for JBJ to begin with, and then even though Bloom said they needed another RHH of he did nothing until August when he got Ham whom he could have had before the season started. Shaw, Bobby D, and Franchy all failures at 1B, and nothing was done until August when Hosmer pretty much fell into Blooms lap, and was pretty much given to the Red Sox. I’ve said enough about Duran, Duran The Butterfly Man, which was a big failure also.
  5. And after all that Bloom who’s supposed to be a smart ivy leaguer still stayed above the lux tax.
  6. In numbers maybe a couple of games, but a circus, and an embarrassment in the process. I guess it didn’t bother you, and that’s fine too, but a good GM should have done better, or at least tried.
  7. Is that the real point, or is it Bloom didn’t act, or knew what to do in real time?
  8. A PR, or a real baseball decision, or a combination of both?
  9. A two month failure wasn’t long enough for you? Hurt the team in the process too.
  10. Especially RF at Fenway.
  11. It was Cora, because he didn’t have many other options, because of the failed Renfroe for JBJ trade. JD could have been an option, but I think the Red Sox brain trust didn’t want to chance him tripping over 2B again, and getting hurt. Also , because Bloom didn’t seem fit to go, and get a regular OF until August. I don’t think it had much of anything to do with getting a so called good player more involved. Renfroe alleviated all the needs, and problems.
  12. Like Arroyo in RF, and Franchy at 1B.
  13. The Price signing was necessary, because of the failure to sign Lester, and yes it takes two sides to agree to an extension, but when you don’t start off with a good bargaining offer such as Lester, and Bogey that is pretty much impossible to do.
  14. That’s fair to me, and until games are played and proved otherwise the Red Sox are still a losing last place team. I think that’s fair.
  15. I wasn’t talking about me when I said not every Red Sox fan was enthralled with the Raffy signing. Yes, and I would be complaining along with everyone else if Raffy signed elsewhere, and some would still be calling JH Johnny Lowball.
  16. Wrong again I am glad they resigned Raffy, but to me that doesn’t exonerate JH, or as some called him Johnny Lowball just, because he signed Raffy, but botched, and butchered along with his minions the Bogey contract charade.
  17. #1 I’m not mad the Red Sox signed Raffy, and said that when he was signed, so while I don’t like those kind of contracts like I said I know you have so sign em to get em.
  18. I know it’s hard to fathom for some that not every Red Sox fan is enthralled with the Red Sox signing Raffy Devers for the amount, and length of time, but as we have seen there are a few just on here.
  19. I don’t believe he said anything about Xander being better just that signing Raffy does not make up for the screwing the pooch on Mookie, and Bogey, and said Raffy isn’t the player Betts is, which I agree with that.
  20. It’s just an opinion, which I have spouted on here for over a year now that I don’t like any 10yr $300M+ contracts. Now I do understand you have to pay em to get ‘em, but I still don’t like ‘em.
  21. Do you really think players get paid what they are worth? I don’t care if a homegrown player, or not the narrative wouldn’t be different not for that much money. Rich owners, and play money to some make prices go up. Is Bogey worth what he got?
  22. $500M is not acceptable no matter what the AAV is.
  23. The bonus spread out over the contract for tax purposes is simple if that’s what it is, but we don’t know if that’s how it is, and why a report would say paid up front. $17.5M is what Raffy is being paid in 2023. That part I think is clear.
  24. It shouldn’t be this complicated, but I guess it is. The physical hasn’t happened yet, and as we have just recently seen anything can happen there too.
  25. The $331M is counting the $17.5M that had already been negotiated, so call it 11/$331M, or 10/$313.5 M. Where the $20M bonus ties in?
