  1. Agree on wildest, and a big NO on the rest. Tampa would most likely take Duran, but no on the rest. You put to much focus on money, and not enough on the want, need, and fit. BTV will accept anything if the values align.
  2. I agree. I know some are more down on BO. Of course the amount of years, which will be longer than Breggie would most likely be the big hang up.
  3. I agree with all about the money. He had offers last year from Houston, and even bigger from Detroit.
  4. They all depend on the deal, and the trade, but I agree with this. The Red Sox could use all, and the Red Sox will probably have to pay more than they want to to get any of them.
  5. I believe right now Bres is trying to to go the shortest, and least expensive route he possibly can.
  6. Duran will not bring a top of the rotation starter, and I don’t believe he is in their long range plans, so I think he’s more expendable then the rest.
  7. Let me say this about that. I doubt very much that the Red Sox have any plans of rotating 4 outfielders around anywhere.
  8. Opt-outs after each year. What a deal.
  9. Con Man is a step down from Alonso IMO, but comes at a cheaper price for a shorter period of time. I’m sure some will compare their stats for the next couple of years. I have No focus on where Gray ranks in the rotation, but only as one of the starters. 1-2 significant adds. Where have I heard that before? As I said before regarding Breggie that he could be better this year, but he also could be worse, so even the status quo is nowhere near a certainty if he is resigning.
  10. There is still about 3 months to go before the 2026 season starts, and if the roster looks the same then as it does now there would be reasons for complaining, and concerns. The biggest concern to me right now is how the Red SOX went about the pursuit of Alonso, whom supposedly the Red SOX were interested in. They had a zoom meeting with him, and then an in person interview, and then only offered a three year contract. That’s a bad sign to me. Has anyone thought that resigning Bregman to big bucks might be a step down from what he was last year when he got off to a hot start battling behind Raffy. What if he doesn’t get off to that hot start this year like he did in 2024, and then doesn’t recover that much. He’s not as good a hitter as he started out last year. Then you’ve also got him on the hook for another 4-5 years. As I said when the Red SOX signed him last year he’s not Mike Schmidt, and the three years was the right amount for the length of the contract.Spend money on FA, or trade off someone like Duran to get an IF that some don’t want to see Duran go. Either way Duran is not going to make, or break the 2026 Red SOX season here, or not IMO.
  11. They sent him off in exile with the ruse he had to rehab his shoulder, because Raffy had his spot at DH. Why they wouldn’t let him hit at Portland, or Woo has never been explained as far as I know. He was well enough to swing a bat in ST.
  12. I think it’s more that the Red SOX can’t move Yoshida then it is they want to keep him.
  13. I believe the Red Sox are quite far down the list when it comes to payroll spending to revenue.
  14. Sportrac has Arendo at $21M for 2026, and $16M for 2027, and LT is $25.5M.
  15. At one time it was the best roster possible, but now I’d say it’s the latter.
  16. Agree on that. I get the concept of trading bad contract for bad contract, but it has to be a fit for both teams.
  17. I don’t know if the Red Sox would want a 35 yr old 3B in decline for the next two years, and I don’t know if Bloom would want Masa for the 2nd time.
  18. Even though he made it through healthy last year there is always the worry of Story staying healthy too.
  19. I don’t think Duran was floated around, because of payroll problems with Masa, but for getting some starting pitching. Ryan, at the time, and then Greene. I don’t know if Duran was floated around for Marte, or not, but trading Duran would not be because Masa is still on the team. Don’t worry. Brez will have it all figured out.
  20. I’m not even counting on Mayer as a good plan B until he can stay healthy, so you might be right about two infielders if they don’t go from within.
  21. I’m fine with keeping Duran, but you still got a log jam in the OF with Masa still on the team.
  22. I think Bregman is still plan A, but who knows after that. Mayer is the fallback at 2B-3B if nothing else comes together.
  23. There are reports out there that Brez is asking for more than teams want to pay.
