  1. Maybe Brez will copy, and read this.
  2. I just think if the Red Sox weren’t all in on getting Bregman they would have offered a better contract to Alonso. It was reported they actually met twice with Alonso, but I don’t know of any other reports them meeting someone else. Of course that doesn’t mean they didn’t.
  3. Not overvalued to me, but just another one the RED Sox didn’t get. The Red Sox met with him not once, but twice, so I think there was more than a little interest. I think the Red Sox had their sights, and money set on Bregman though, and didn’t want to have two long term contracts, so only offered 3 years.
  4. Yes HR can be blinding, and why not? They go up on the scoreboard right then, and there.
  5. Con Man was an add, but he’s not an Alonso, and I think that’s where the rub is. The Red Sox miss out, and don’t get the top tier FA, and that’s why some say JH is cheap. Also not signing the Lester, Mookie, and Bogeys of the world outside of Raffy of course. Cheap means different things to different people.
  6. I agree. It amazes that people don’t want to give up the likes of Duran, or Abreu. Saying he’ll get more AB against LHP doesn’t mean he’ll do well against them. Neither Duran, nor Abreu are going to make, or break the Red Sox season.
  7. Well said, and like I asked WHY to to the RED Sox have to settle?
  8. It remains to be seen if the Red Sox have a so called elite pitching staff. Audibled?🤔
  9. I disagree 100%. Why do the BOSTON RED SOX have to settle at all. Less learning curve? Why do we have to talk about that at all. Right now the Red Sox don’t have a regular 2B, or a regular 3B. WHY? Yes there are guys who can play there, but why do the Red Sox have to settle for only that. Two years ago the Red Sox went through 11 different 2B, and I don’t know how many last year. WHY? How many different 1B has played there the last few years? WHY? Logjams? WHY?🤭🤭
  10. I don’t know if anyone deemed him the 2nd baseman of the future. The Red SOX had used 11 different 2B the year before, and he didn’t, and still don’t really have a position, so they gave him a shot there. He’s not a good defensive 2B anyway, and after he stopped hitting after a good start he was sent down to Woo where he didn’t hit for a while there either, and never came back. He’s still doesn’t have a position, so who knows where he ends up on, and off the field.
  11. That’s the kicker they didn’t view Masa as a DH despite his shortcomings as an OF. Then Bloom overpaid for Masa shutting down the bidding in record time. I understand not being sure on the suspects, but as it turns out Bloom was wrong all the way around, and the Red Sox still owe Masa $36M+.
  12. That would be a question for Bloom. Maybe he wasn’t that high on the three you listed IDK.
  13. Did you get 12+ inches of the white stuff?
  14. Yes he could have been on the opening day roster, but he wasn’t, so I guess they didn’t want to, and signed Duvall, and Masa, which might not have happened if the Red Sox thought Duran was ready. The Red Sox knew what Masa’s shortcomings were, and spent $105M on him anyway.
  15. May have sounded good, but STORY was signed to take over for Bogey at SS bad arm, and all.
  16. Didn’t Duran start the year at WOO, and was only called up at the time, because Duvall got hurt? Duran was not on the opening day roster.
  17. Exactly. I don’t believe there was any plan by the Red Sox brain trust to move either one off their positions.
  18. Masa wasn’t signed to be a DH. He was signed to be an OF, because the Red Sox were lacking for OF at the time.🤔
  19. You didn’t point out anything. You, or Notin just have a different interpretation of what AJP said to fit your narrative that #12 couldn’t be a reason for failed negotiation tactics by playing go fish. I also never said the opinions on the likes of ESPN, and MLB networks were all facts, but I’ll take those opinions as more of a fact than what is said on here. Blame is handed out all the time on here whether you like it, or not. You don’t have to know all the facts to lay blame at all. #12 played GO FISH, and that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so.👋
  20. Why do you keep saying by all accounts? There is a big difference between all accounts, and all accounts I heard. Notin didn’t provide a different source at all, but how you interpret that account can lead to different conclusions like saying failed negotiation tactics instead of just the money. The RED Sox playing Go Fish while other teams were playing hold em. That’s what other people are taking away from this. I’ve already said that money, and no trade played a part in this, but just like others I also say that Bregman, and his negotiating also played a role. Like I have mentioned more than one other venue have discussed this, and not one that I heard said it was all about money, and all those other venues have more knowledge than me, or you. #12 did not shine in this one.
  21. The Red SOX made an initial offer, which was low that Bregman got a little mad at, and the Red SOX pretty much said it was take it, or leave it. Then the Red SOX were told that Bregman had a higher offer that the Red Sox didn’t believe. The Red Sox were not told what that offer was. Finally the Red Sox did make a final so called aggressive offer, which was to little to late, so a final offer was made, so there was NO FACT that a final offer was not made quite to the contrary. The final takeaway from all this was, and this is not my words, but it was FAILED NEGOTIATION tactics by the Red Sox, and while the Red Sox were playing GO Fish other teams were playing hold em. Once again not my words. 👋
  22. The issue is not that they haven’t been talked about, but that the Red Sox don’t have any of them.
  23. You mean someone like Alonso, or Raffy, or to some degree Bregman?
  24. I’m going more on what AJP says who seems to have some insider knowledge, which is more than what you, or I have. He spells it out pretty well IMO. I also heard it discussed on MLB, ESPN, NESN, and other talk shows. Where does your info come from?
